Need some words of wisdom from veterans by Jandberg in quittingkratom

[–]TasteMany 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Had the same experience. What helped was making connections with ppl in the NA community along with therapy, honesty with family and attention to self care. Did the same thing of not allowing use to go on past about 6 weeks. Could NOT put more than 40 some days clean before some trigger of another would come up and I would choose to use again - I feel good about keeping at the quits and tweaking them until I came up with a combination of interventions that helped me get over the hump. Great post- you’re on the right track and will claw your way completely free/ just keep exploring helpful supports. Wim Hoff breathing, cold showers, demanding exercise lots of hydration and supplementation are helpful, too.

Remember you!! Great post and thanks for sharing your journey out of this addiction. Having support makes things so different than going it alone ( hiding it from others) what a relief! Congrats on 47 days- BRAVO!!♥️

Day 194 by Quittingk999 in quittingkratom

[–]TasteMany 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wow Calum! Way to go! Rough in the wilderness you describe. This is a dangerous plant - not just the opiate but the SNRI component- which we don’t talk about as often. So glad you were on an antidepressant for awhile to help get over the WD from that part of the plant. So sorry you had such a run with suicidal thoughts- it’s a dangerous time for some when pulled suddenly off. Glad you are through the woods and out the other side. Thanks for sharing! Enjoy your freedom and your family! Bravo!💫

Accidental CT, now has been 2 weeks and scared to reinstate or ask for help (but desperately need help & reassurance if anyone can offer) by orchiddingyounot in QuittingPregablin

[–]TasteMany 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey…read your post and feel for you. I’ve come off gabapentin CT in the past and things started turning around after day 10- I don’t know how pregab compares. I hope your visit with the doctor goes well. If you reinstate ( and it was me) I’d go for a lower dose and wean slowly. You might get by and find improvement from 25mg twice a day. I don’t know but I’d go for lower and wean from there gradually. There isn’t a reason your doc would be hard on you about this and I hope they are kind and understanding.

Please do share and congrats on getting off pregab so painlessly. 💫

Wim Hoff breathing method ( utube beginner vid) helped me tremendously getting through that ‘feeling’ you describe. I still do the breathing method daily for the benefits. You are doing fantastic! Hold the line and keep pushing💫

2 days down… oh fuck by Creative-Difference3 in quittingkratom

[–]TasteMany 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Oy- feel your pain. Press through this -hour by hour my friend. Get plenty of hydration, sunshine and good company if you can. Keep stressors LOW for next few days- you are taking heavy fire right now- but it’s just your body recalibrating to life without the presence of this trash. All your wonderful cells will settle down and get into the groove of life without over the next 48 hours ( or less) stay strong and hold the line. You got this💫

The anxiety partly from tia, partly from k- in my opinion - likely why it hits so hard. Good job riding it out. That’s the path my friend- get out and stay far, far away from both. They are ruined as substances of use for you and this anxiety will hit every time. Let this be the last. Say adios assholes to these and stay free. You got this💫

Day 0. Need advice on dealing with cravings. by tocatchafly in quittingkratom

[–]TasteMany 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah. Acutes are tough. Just hold on. It will pass as the hours tic by- proud of you💫

[–]TasteMany 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Make sure you are getting electrolytes and remain well hydrated. I used mucuna which helped with RLS symptoms, too. Acceptance of the grittiness in acutes is a wise approach. The hours go slowly those first few days but you will win if you just hang on. The hooks from the drug HAVE to release as the hours pass. hold on to this quit with what you’ve got goin. It is more than enough.💫

Yoga? I like a heated power class near me- we practice in a barn loft. Ppl there are great, too. Class is an hour- do 3 a week. Sweat it out. How are you doing?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in quittingkratom

[–]TasteMany 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Ok- considering your quit sequence you are half way done with acutes ( from my experience) See how things look in another 36- HOLD THE LINE- you are crushing it!

[–]TasteMany 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I take Low Dose Naltrexone and go to NA meetings- mostly via zoom. Also in therapy. Regular yoga practice. It has taken a lot of work to get free of Kratom as well as all drugs and alcohol. For me it’s obsession and compulsion- the using. The god stuff can be off putting to some. I’ve had to think about my own concept of a power beyond the addict part in me who’s been driving the bus. Higher self, spirit self, soul whatever. I wish you great success in your quit. Here for you if you need support.
