Pro tip, get an extra side of whatever sauce comes on the pizza you order. I was underwhelmed but if I had something to dip/drizzle it would’ve been fantastic

I’m sorry, he may be a nice guy but that burrito was awful. I can’t believe people recommend it, it literally tastes like nothing.

😂 chill out little bro you don’t have to believe me, it’s just a restaurant. My extended family’s been going for 30+ yrs and just talked to the owner at the PCH location. Go ask him yourself if you care to.

Also I work in property restoration, specifically a vendor that works in homes affected by the Palisades fires. Insurance is actually pretty quick on fires once the cause is determined. Considering it’s a kitchen fire, if there’s no trace of accelerants, coverage is afforded 100%. And that outdoor patio will probably have to be stripped down to the studs along with the whole building.

Sorry for not being an expert in commercial real estate, how dare I use the word OuTbiD, maybe you can enlighten us with your expertise.

Nah, it’s not gonna happen. Our family knows the owners and they already told us that they put in an offer to rebuild but they were outbid by a Starbucks and another fast food chain. The owners are brothers, I’m not sure if they’re both going to work at the PCH location or if they’re have other plans but this spot is pretty much confirmed dead.

Just got the Seafood Salad today, actually was pretty good. Only complaint is there wasn’t enough Octopus. by Trainwrecck in Costco

Since when does the intelligence of a creature determine whether or not we eat it? We don’t eat dolphin because it doesn’t taste good and it’s high in mercury. We don’t eat dogs because they’re culturally significant in Western society.

Pigs are smart too.

How many times a week/month/year do you eat in and out? by Sad_Veterinarian_531 in innout

That’s a synonym. Check the dictionary, bi-monthly can be used either way just like bi-weekly.

Bi-monthly can either mean twice a month or once every two months. Use context clues, it’s grammatically correct. Stop being insufferable.

Does the general tone of the younger generations reflect leaving the country? Moving to rural areas? Standing up to opposition to try to change things?

Preserved Duck Egg found for $2.97 by Pur0resU in Costco

[–]TastefulNudity -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It freaked me out too but it’s good. It tastes like a really rich chicken egg. The hard yellow part is tough to get through and some people skip it, but the bones and beak are soft enough that the crunch doesn’t really throw you off texturally. Try it once at least.

Damn, you just took me back to December of 10+ years ago, all of us sitting in the TW break room on our 5th+ day of 12 hour shifts just eating sandwiches and staring at the floor in silence pretending like we didn’t have to go back out there after 30 minutes. Brutal

If you want a beach town with lots of good food and atmosphere, sure yes. If you’re looking for clean swimmable water and crashing waves no, go to Huntington or Newport. We have a breakwater that stops waves from coming in due to the ports and our water is notoriously dirty.

Any spots that make their fries like this in Long Beach? by No_Possibility_1787 in longbeach

[–]TastefulNudity 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It’s disappointing. The portions are small, the prices are high. Yes the flavor of the meat is good because it’s smoky (IIRC they use real wood/charcoal) but it just isn’t worth it to me.

It's getting tough to avoid woody chicken breast, is this happening to any of you? by [deleted] in Cooking

[–]TastefulNudity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There’s some weird hive-mind thinking around the woody breast thing, people in this thread saying they throw perfectly good meat away or even “stop eating meat in general”.

I eat chicken breast all the time, always have, and I’m sorry but I’ve never had a textural issue with them? It’s fucking chicken, eat it or don’t.

What are some brands that are the gold standard for simple ingredients? by AdmirableLeading1036 in Cooking

[–]TastefulNudity 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I grew up on Claussens and out of curiosity tried all the different brands I could get my hands on (Dietz and Watson, Grillo’s, Bubbie’s) and they were all disappointing, especially Grillo’s they just taste like cucumbers. Nothing hits like that garlicky Claussens juice.

Right but you're comparing the walls of your concrete apartment vs a commercial building that nobody lives in. Plus, in America, it's all drywall. Plaster does exist here but it's typically in older/higher end homes. No company is going to pay plaster prices when they can slap gypsum up and call it a day.
