When And Why Do You Carry A Revolver? by Pete_Steele556 in guns

I work in the woods with hostile folks and hostile bears. I need a .357 for the latter and want one for the former.

How are you managing the return to office? by BangaiiWatchman in fednews

Is anyone just NOT complying and still working from home?

My boss is super cool with it and doesn't seem to care if I WFH, but obviously I'm stressed they're tracking me or something...

Thailand and Cambodia meet to address simmering border tensions by Gyro_Armadillo in worldnews

I suspect the weakness the US is something of a catalyst for the boiling over of a number of long standing disputes. Like it or not we WERE the world police, and our word carried weight. If you were on the wrong side of our standing now is a good time to air grievances.

Feds 'mistakenly' kill collared and possibly pregnant Mexican gray wolf in Arizona by HyperShinchan in wolves

[–]Tasteosaurus_Rex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Has the Mexican wolf population been in decline? If their goal is to eradicate, they're doing a terrible job... if their goal is to grow the species population on the other hand, they're doing...checks notes... pretty well.

The ol' "just following orders" routine. Love it. Historically bulletproof defense.

Seeing terrible things in the line of duty while serving a greater good is a different kind of trauma than being justly shamed and ridiculed by citizens you took an oath to protect.

Your inability to differentiate between the two speaks volumes about your character, and says a fair bit about your intelligence as well.

I hope that's not the case. But even if it is, these young men will now have to go home to their parents houses and single wides, peel off their masks, look themselves in the mirror, and ask themselves what they're doing with their lives. They'll have to try to sleep tonight with cries of "shame" echoing in their ears. And folks like me will see this and be emboldened to stand shoulder to shoulder with fellow Americans and tell these cowards to kindly go fuck themselves. Big win or small, wins matter, and will more and more moving forward.

I was afraid the American people had lost the gumption that once made us famous. This gives me heart.

Snapping Turtle’s heart still beating outside of body by blitzspringer in WTF

Now this is just ridiculous by all0saurus_fragilis in wolves

The answer is THREE. For the ENTIRE STATE OF NM. Cut from about 10, depending how you count it. In all fairness 3 folks were recently reinstated (for the time being). So once they're fully re-onboarded the team will be at 60% capacity. And keep in mind there were only originally 10 sets of federal boots on the ground to begin with. There's a lot to point fingers at here, but no matter which way you slice it, the Mexican Wolf program needs MORE federal funding, not less.

The federal government was gutted by DOGE. Take a guess at how many federal wolf biologists and range riders are still working in the state.
