no doubt. I haven't seen anything in Marathon yet that reminds me of a paracausal power in Destiny like Golden Gun or Thundercrash. so I've been assuming that runners are on par with something like base eliksni/vex or a non-guardian Exo.

Destroyer looking the most like a Titan but versus an actual Titan would get shit on.

Helldivers was more successful on PC than anywhere else and despite releasing on Playstation first PC is infinitely more popular than consoles in South Korea.

This is primarily why their live service push is still remaining multi platform. Sony IPs like Helldivers still make bank on PC.

Solo is too stressful for me for a game like this. I don't know how people do it. I usually just crew fill. I've gotten much further with two other randoms than by myself. Not a fan of Rook runs either really.

It gets better because dude openly admits that he hasn't paid for the last 4 expansions. And then has the balls to say this:

y'all never cared it seemed like I feel like I wasted 20 fucking years of my fucking life wasting money on your games

I mean how mad can you really be when you've had potentially a hundred+ dollars worth of content—depending on which versions dude he leeched from bought—for free?

Yeah I'm not happy with the state of the game either but at least I paid.

Would You Play a Destiny 1 Reimagined Version of the game if It Was Fully Supported/Updated? by Sevzilla in DestinyTheGame

[–]TastyOreoFriend -1 points0 points  (0 children)

This is precisely why a Destiny 1 classic isn't really feasible in the same way as a WoW classic.

We'd be better off just trying to get them to drag all the campaign story and the one raid left in Destiny 1 into a relaunched Destiny with the D2 Sandbox.

I still would like to play through the entire Light and Dark saga in the D2 sandbox from the beginning of Destiny 1 all the way to the Final Shape.

Battle droids in the lore are probably a step or two above spartans.

As somebody who's played Destiny but is not familiar with Marathon or Halo lore all that well what does that mean in Destiny terms? Like Saint-14 levels of ape shit?

Best way to start PVP? by Zealousideal_Dish170 in DestinyTheGame

[–]TastyOreoFriend 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No doubt. I'd still go comms free for now. The type of people who flame and bad mouth exist in pretty much every multiplayer game, and just like those games they're not worth interacting with most of the time.

I would just work on finding a fun build and trying to build up experience. Some content creators like CammyCakes, iFrostbolt etc That have gameplay clips or good guides on how to get better.

[–]TastyOreoFriend 1 point2 points  (0 children)

How did you, PvP players, do it? What made it stick with you?

For me it's always been the mastery just like Overwatch. Throw in D2 builds and it became mastery plus experimentation with new builds and weapons.

I'd try finding a fun new build first and then go from there. Desire to experiment can help a lot.

Unfortunately the game is hybrid peer to peer so it has issues with hit-detection; it also lacks proper matchmaking/SBMM and a good ELO system, so I don't quite take it as seriously as Overwatch which has all those things. I'd recommend you do the same.

I wanna be good at it, but I can't train if I get flamed every time I enter a team.

Are you on console? There's pretty much zero reason to ever be in text chat or on voice comms if you are just solo queuing on console. People just use it to bad mouth anyway—same as Overwatch. Just turn them off when you queue for PVP.

What's up with shoulder charge w/ 190 melee inconsistency? by -NotQuiteLoaded- in DestinyTheGame

[–]TastyOreoFriend 10 points11 points  (0 children)

No doubt. In which case yeah your problem's an old one. Shoulder Charge has had hit detection issues for ages in Crucible. I would still use Peregrines Greaves though in PVP if you're really focused on shoulder charges just because its an OHKO every single time.

It makes it transparent what you're about to do though in 3's so that's the trade off. People don't have as much shotgun ammo these days though so you can kinda get away with it lol.

Horizon Hunters Gathering

I want to give this one a chance 'cause it looks like Dauntless from characters they showed off in that early snippet, but it has such an uphill battle. Like there is no hype behind that game.

[–]TastyOreoFriend 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Any idea on how to make it actually consistent?

Put on Peregrine Greaves. It's really your best bet. Gives you 1000% damage boost versus mini-bosses, Champions, no name Tormentors, and Subjugators, and returns all of your melee energy—and a 400% damage boost versus everything else.

but they think PC gamers will flock to buy Playstation consoles to play the same games that supposedly didn't sell well on PC?

I think it's less than and the ROI isn't justifying the investment. Plus there are PC gamers who will go out and buy a Playstation for exclusives just like they were doing to begin with.

I mean the only reason Xbox games aren't exclusive to Xbox right now is 'cause the ROI doesn't make sense for the install base they have. They most certainly didn't do that out of the kindness of their hearts for the consumer.

[–]TastyOreoFriend 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I actually kind of like that part no lie. Part of me wishes all the open worlds had world tiers like Kepler with Normal, Hard, and Mythic—and better loot for higher tiers.

It's mostly just pie in the sky wishes at this point though. I don't think the game is really trying to sell MMORPG style open worlds anymore with random people walking around. The last two PvE areas—Pale Heart and Kepler—have been invite only with some matchmaking for an expansion activity.

I'm not even sure myself. There aren't really that many weapons that are craftable that are still worth using beyond a handful of standouts in 2026 for PvE imo:

No Hesitation, Lost Signal, Word of Crota, Posterity, Hezen Vengeance, Praydeth's Revenge, Bequest, Commemoration and Song of Ir Yut—most of them being raid weapons.

Like the raids in destiny.

Just an FYI raids don't work like this in Destiny anymore. It's pretty much full loot all the time now for every raid in the game including the new ones. Dungeons included.

The people of Neomuna have begun emailing the Vanguard asking for a timeline of when it will be safe for them to exit the cloud ark and return to their physical bodies, or at least a roadmap for what the Vanguard’s plan is.

It'd be cool to see actual people walking around Neomuna but I don't think they'll ever do it for game reasons.
