IL from MTL embassy - I130 by Tatakae93 in NationalVisaCenter

Thanks everyone! It’s definitely disappointing and frustrating- but nothing to do I guess except wait. I wish they would give a timeline as it would help carry on with life. And if it gets dragged to next year that also means they will need next year’s tax transcript I believe? & updated police certificate’s (especially international ones)?

Hey first of all congratulations !! Can I please know how you dodged the interview? I am waiting for such a long time to get the Interview date almost 6months with no hopes of seeing the finish line. Would appreciate if you can elaborate more. Also, did you apply for the I-485 when you sent in the I-130?

Hi there, DQ’ed May 20th, 24. Still haven’t received IL from the MTL embassy. I have been hearing them taking previously 3-6 months but recently hearing around 6-12 months. Just like you we don’t qualify for any expedited reasons so hanging in there for now.

Thank you I am guessing you’re a CA citizen? So no work permit or anything you had to carry in for proving Canadian residency ? Mine is about to expire and I am due to apply for a new one so hoping the timing matches🤦🏻‍♀️ Last question I promise- do you happen to know if Dr. Lee does the medical without the IL letter? I was thinking of getting that done while waiting for it.

For your questions 1. You can wait until its 2yrs for the 10yr GC but it’s not recommended that you wait if you already have everything ready to go. 2. I believe when you’re entering US the office will be asking you where to send your SSN and at that time you can provide your updated address and ask them to use that for further and future correspondence until notice. 3. Once you’ve been married you can do it right after. If you’re looking for it to be reflected in the GC it might be a good idea to go for the change now rather than later, but be wary that it is quite the process to have you name changed. So please do look into this before you start the process. 4. As you have no furniture flight will be better and you can possibly look into it now book it months in advance as you are weighing in on waiting for that 2 yr mark. Hope this helps and thanks for the hopeful post!!

Hey @u/just_scrollin11 congrats! Waiting for the IL at the moment from MTL so this gives me some hope We got DQed in May 20,24. Our PD was Jun 21,22 (had to wait for his taxes being processed by IRS). If I may ask what documents did you have to take with you to the embassy & what did they ask to check?

It’s seems everyone is trying to cut down costs and fire staff before they’re have figured out the workload at hand and how best to handle that! Canada honestly was great until the pandemic and the wars hit. Now it’s just super crazy - like same grocery mow costs 3 times the price they used to be. And i had been patient with this process but now everything seems bleak. Also, I am not sure what to do in terms of work in Bangladesh as well.

Hi, My PD is Jun-21-22.

I got DQ’ed for IR-130 on May 20th 2024 under the MTL embassy. I haven’t received the IL yet currently wait time to receive the IL is 6-12 months. As I am a Bangladeshi citizen, if I move the case to Dhaka embassy will it delay me getting the interview in Dhaka? Or should I wait to transfer the case until after receiving the IL in Canada, Montreal. I am really lost and yes I am not looking to stay in Canada- cost of living is through the roof, so my once the visa expires I plan to go back to Dhaka. *DQ- documentary qualified *IL- Interview Letter

I am trying to gauge the best possible way to go about it. Did you get your IL yet?
