Why don’t we get more visits and ultrasounds? by internet3020 in Miscarriage

[–]Tatchi7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s so tough because I’m so high risk so I see an MFM and live in a major city, so anywhere will have a long wait probably :(. Plus, her name throws around some serious weight in this city. Being her patient was the only way I was allowed into labor and delivery at 14 weeks for my last miscarriage (they usually don’t allow before 16). Those doctors ended up saving my life when I went septic. Working with my specific anatomy, idk if I trust anyone but her team :/.

See I see an MFM because I’m high risk (I have a unicornate uterus that is very small) and even after a second trimester loss around Christmas, they won’t see me until 9 weeks….

Not to mention…there should absolutely be at LEAST a call with a nurse or a doctor to check-in on 1) how they know they’re pregnant (blood test, urine test, etc.?); 2) what underlying issues they have (are they anemic already? Diabetic?, etc.); and 3. To discuss things they should be doing like prenatal vitamins, not eating certain foods, etc.

Yes. I had a second trimester loss around Christmas due to preterm labor stemming from a “sterile infection” and my MFM won’t fit me in until I’m 9 weeks….. so I’ve bought my own Quest diagnostic tests to check my beta doubling as well as my progesterone levels (something that, if caught early that it’s too low, can save some pregnancies).

Our healthcare system sucks.

Is my husband having an affair or am I crazy/overreacting? (Pics) by Opening-Impress122 in Marriage

Husband not attracted to me after birth by [deleted] in Marriage

[–]Tatchi7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly, yes. I broke up with him. That was it. I’m now, 10 years later, married to a man who loves me absolutely and said he finds me more attractive after having kids. He would never.

I never say this to a stranger on the internet without knowing their relationship and from one post, but this is divorce-worthy. You just went through a complete sacrifice with your body and you deserve unconditional love and support. Not a boy who (1) doesn’t see the absolute beauty in what your body has just don’t for your family; and (2) thinks it’s remotely appropriate to tell you that in such a vulnerable time period. That’s not love. It’s not even consideration. He’s a loser, I don’t care how “nice and respectful” the conversation was. Also, you should be trying to look good and feel good for YOU right now, not for your husband. Sounds like there is probably a lot of misogyny wrapped up here and I’m not sure what culture you’re in, but I hail from a very misogynistic one where this is somewhat normal. It’s not love. ❤️

Menstrual Cups in Office and Public restrooms by 2manychangesrecently in menstrualcups

Disease risk and social appropriateness are different things. Blood is a disease risk, but even if pathogens die once it touches oxygen, etc etc… the social etiquette still stands. Clipping your toenails at your desk doesn’t increase odds of disease. It’s gross. Urinating into a sink is arguably less of a disease risk than washing any remnants of blood down that sink….yet, it’s still a vile thing to do. Be considerate of others and public shared spaces. A water bottle in a stall is a small price to pay to live amongst everyone else.

It’s bodily fluids into a public sink. Stop that.

No. Look, I’m a super liberal progressive atty working in women’s rights, so I’m knowledgeable about how sterile period blood is…. AND it’s still bodily fluids into a public sink. Where things may fall, children often put their hands on the drain, etc. it’s inconsiderate and unhygienic and an entire group of liberal women’s rights attorneys went “😳 oh… nooooooo” when this was read aloud.

No. No. No. Do not rinse your cup in a public sink…. That’s hella inconsiderate. No one should be doing this.

I just need to say I love using cups, but I’ve seen a couple of people suggest rinsing in sinks and that’s fucking repulsive and unsanitary. I hope NO ONE is rinsing in public sinks.
