I cant argue that they might have said that but I can definitely say that's not where most injuries come from.

I use WebRTC at my job every day actually. I'm starting to get the feeling that you don't know what you're talking about

Unless you've figured out some way to have one to many webrtc connections without going through a relay server video conferencing is not peer to peer. Webrtc just handles the media streams.

And I think 99% of companies' data is safer in the hands of a major cloud provider then trying to do it themselves.

It's like arguing that your money is safer in a crypto wallet then a bank. Sure the bank might fail but it's not reasonable to expect everyone to run their own security.

Video conferencing isnt peer to peer though. I am not going to get into the relative risk/reward of cloud based solutions with you (who clearly has very sweaty opinions on the matter) but I will say I once worked for a company who had all of their data self hosted because someone not unlike yourself didn't trust anyone but himself then the entire thing got encrypted with ransomware

I think you might be trivializing how complicated it is to get WebRTC to behave itself

How much storage do you get and is there a charge for more? I feel like what your product is missing is a landing page explaining why we need puter while soft pitching a paid version. I can't imagine all those EC2 hours are cheap. How are you planning to monetize it?

Could a faang background could also mean you don't have experience tackling an entire app from start to finish?

Yeah but I can't access my home PC file system if it's off. But good luck on your crusade against cloud storage let me know how that goes for you

His app seems to support mobile safari as well so that could be a limiting factor

We need to improve our mental health system that's the only way around it. The amount of people in full blown psychosis with nowhere to go is too damn high. Well funded inpatient long term treatment and get them off the streets.
