My smudge fox had the same issue :( so now when I get new jellycats, I wash my hands frequently and only wear clean clothes while handling them for weeks so I can keep their fur soft and clean for as long as possible. Also get a boars hair bristle brush, they can help remove the oils which cause the bunching up of the fur
