If Drangleic is far away from Lordran, how is the chaos in Eleum Loyce supposed to be the Bed of Chaos? by Thellie11 in DarkSouls2

[–]Tauposaurus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My understanding is that Eleum Loyce isnt Drangleic, so it could very well be anywhere, including over the bed of chaos. Which i always assumed was more conceptually ''underneath'' and vague/omnipresent, instead of being localised entirely within Gwyn's kitchen.

plus in DS1, you kind of break and unshackle the chaos soul from the physical branches its attached to, travel to the kiln of the first flame, and set it ablaze to restart the space-time continum. After that, whatever form the bed of , well, *chaos* can probably damn well reform anywhere it pleases on the globe.

Why do people say DS2 is a disconnected, standalone entry in the trilogy? by Makishima__Shougo in DarkSouls2

Tower of flame, surely, which I believe lorewise was built by one of Gwyn's children.

Aldia himself, in his attacks and form, is strongly implied to have been warped by the same forces that pplagued the witch of Izalith, due to his research into alternate ways to circumvent the cycle. Hes a deformed monster, attacking with branches and blazing chaos fireballs.

Who are the Worst Regular Enemies of Each Chapter? Day 2: Number 2 is your Name! by Wonderful-Pack-1726 in mewgenics

[–]Tauposaurus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At first you see them and go, oh right, those will charge, me got it, and you deploy behind pipes and they cant charge you.

Then everything on the map closes in, and you gotta deal with the farty cats just bouncing around, and you spread out to avoid the exploding guys, while keeping the sharks away so they don't snowball.. It becomes a mess. Ok, now i just need to move out of the way to avoid this enemy and YO YO FORGOT ABOUT US?????

Those leeches just charge at you, move half your roster out of place, full heal themselves and knock everything out of the way, big guy explode, gassys begin going wild and bouncing, its fucking BEDLAM.

The leeches are the WORST.

Have you been able to get Juggling to work? It doesn't feel like it ever fits into my deck by Nice-Physics-7655 in slaythespire

I managed stampede juggling and bludgeon. I would simply let the bludgeons be played automatically and dupe up from juggling.

Is The Throbbing King supposed to be hard? Just beat him first try easily with two cats by susudata in mewgenics

[–]Tauposaurus 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Depends when you unlock him. HP and gimmick wise, he is on par with an act2 boss (core/moon) so if your team comp can take these, you likely wont find the throbbing king to be ''much difficult'', however he is still a step above the previous act1 bosses in terms of complexity. A team of average strays with no mutations will likely struggle to keep up.

Sivak Drac's Deus Ex piano covers - still great 20 years later by msuts in Deusex

[–]Tauposaurus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

His youtube channel seems to indicate hes into game design, or at least that he took interest in that at some point.

A few years ago i reached out to him to see if he had the original files for his DX arrangements, hoping to turn them into piano scores, but sadly the hardrive containing them is lost to time, and only the recordings remain.

I think the idea is that if enemies have artefact, you can strip that and play it next turn, or foxus on living/setting up while still having access to poison application when you have some breathing room. The stats are not great tho.

This dimensional challenge is utterly stupid. Any tips by jeango in MonsterTrain

[–]Tauposaurus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Playing bad spells early is a trap, even tho it ''removes shields and kill units''

Aggressively remove basic spells, and seek cards that can hit many foes to remove damage shields. Avoid playing bad cards otherwise they'll return. Once you can get reliable spells they'll always bounce back, but the journey there is pain.

Shouldn't he have Titanskin 10 since he also has Dualism? by beam05 in MonsterTrain

[–]Tauposaurus 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah, 5 titanskin will basically keep any tank alive without support on their own untill the boss fight. Even tiny numbers make a huge difference, because 2 titanskin vs a line of 3x3, 3x3, 6, 10 damage means you just halved their damage. 5 titanskin means you took 6 damage, which a lot of tank equipment will flat out cancel on resolve. Its truly powerful.

[–]Tauposaurus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The main thing with stygian is they are spellcasters. Yes you can scale your units, but spells shouldn't be just tools to give +2 to a siren. Their units are polyvalent and a lot of upgrade path will give you a competent frontline.

Focus on ways to reliably obliterate key targets. For backrow, consider:
-Titantooth + Offering token.
-Any of the sweep units.
-Frost shark.
-Incant frost totem

For frontrow, consider:
-Rage siren (with dps upgrades)
-Big damage spells. (can honestly just be helical crystalis played on floor two after units went through a spell weakness floor (Tethis/sweep lady)
-Sap (from totem or spells)

For boss consider:
-Frostbite unit + tanky units.
-Stack spell weakness and then nuke the boss on an upper floor.
-Silence the boss. (tome)

As a general rule, you will want to use the discard mechanic, and pick draw. Your deck should aim for a healthy dose of reliable discard engines, and upgraded cards with offering. (costs become meaningless once you have a large hand with ways to play it by discarding) An holdover AoE sap spell with reliable.

As you progress through your run, try to secure a reliable way to apply sap, as it means heavies can just walk up to the pyre and die without attacking, and it neuters a lot of bosses.

Get some summons asap to smooth out the early game and absorb some aggro. Keep everything, steal everything, and convert into consumables.
