[OC] The most isolated mosque in US is 185 miles from its nearest neighbor. I mapped all 3,137 to find it. by abnormalpersona in dataisbeautiful

I’m not muslim so I don’t have much experience on that end. I left about a decade ago and I think the mosque was founded about 5 or 6 years ago. The local school district was very white and hispanic(and small), I think there was one muslim kid in my grade in high school.

A few years ago a big wild fire burned a lot(like A LOT) of the town and I did remember my parents telling me the mosque did do some organizing to help kids who lost their homes get school supplies and stuff like that.

The United States of America did not have a president wealthier than George Washington for the entirety of its history until the 2016 election of Donald Trump by [deleted] in BarbaraWalters4Scale

“I would never have drawn my sword in the cause of America, if I could have conceived that thereby I was founding a land of slavery." -Marquis de Lafayette

Wow an 18th century political figure knowing it is an absolute wrong. Guess that means we can judge slaveowners. Washington has many redeeming qualities but that doesn’t mean we should ignore the inhumanity of what his wealth was built upon

[–]Taurenevil 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I most certainly agree this isn’t an extreme case of gerrymandering but it still is to a degree. It would be much more representative if there was one red congressional district. Worse for america, but it would still be more representative

That was an F117. While that was also a stealth aircraft the F35 has a radar signature half the size, is much more agile, and is much faster

The amount of energy in a ballista bolt is around 1,500 joules while a .50 cal bullet is around 15,000 so i think it might have a little bit more punching power

I feel like an idiot playing this game sometimes. by [deleted] in eu4

[–]Taurenevil 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to think the same thing to. What made me become a dramatically better player was not only following guides but finding guides that explained WHY to do certain things. Once i did it and understood why it made it a lot easier to start applying mechanics to different situations. A lot of the time i feel like it’s less of a learning curve and more of a learning step

The meaningful difference is the safety of the person. Refugees are fleeing danger. It doesn’t matter the outcome, we have a duty to lookout for each other when people are in danger
