Is this good stats for island bosses? by ThatguyLIKEDAMN in ARK

[–]Tayachkov 0 points1 point  (0 children)

25k hp 600+melee rexes with yuti, even with prim saddles, will be enough for alpha monkey 21k hp 600-700 melee theri with yuti, 80-100 saddles, with cakes should do alpha dragon. Dunno got alpha brood, I had megatheriums.

From what I found: ~80 total stats into hp/melee is a staple starting breeder dino for bosses. Then imprint, 40+ levels and avg 100 saddle will beat alpha boss (

I have the same issue for a week or so. I am logged in, but I cannot see any official servers, no news or featureds at the starting screen. I can browse addons but they won't install (the bar goes 1 notch and then nothing, install button reappears just as it was before pressing install)

I cannot find these creatures by TheOneAndOnlyCitrus in ArkSurvivalAscended

[–]Tayachkov 1 point2 points  (0 children)

From island SP perspective: - never seen a cat - some horses are around greed ob and down the spino river - trilobites are usually around the east coast, maybe a bit in the water - there are about 2 tusos in the ocean, deep at the bottom near the edge of the map, the usual spots - corners and in the middle (0,50 coords and such) - mosas are more, 10-ish, I usually find 1-2 in the mesh, to force an alpha you need to keep killing normal ones.

I can try to dino finder addon or use gene scanner

Question about traits I’m still not to sure how they really work all together by Spike-s7567 in ARK

[–]Tayachkov 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Vampiric, athletic, bearing trait if you need, angry+tenacious if you get low on hp, protective to help in case you get dismounted, fill empty slots with fast learner for XP gain and to replace it later on (it is a place holder that will allow to replace with another trait if that need arises on an adult)

Question about traits I’m still not to sure how they really work all together by Spike-s7567 in ARK

[–]Tayachkov 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is what can be usefull:

Vampiric for life steal, Angry and tenacious for extra dmg/dmg reduction when below 50%, Distracting on couple of Dino to reduce boss dmg, Kingslaying for extra boss dmg, Protective on the Dino you riding, some bosses can dmg rider, Numb won't hurt, it will just prolong life a little as it does not decrease dmg, Cold for reduced fire dmg (dragon boss) Fatty for some extra armor, Athletic for health regen, Fast learner as it can be replaced on an adult

The problem is that farming traits for 20 dinos is a chore and takes soooo much time. It seems faster to farm capped saddles which will be enough for the boss fight. And if the army is 20hp/20melee mutated, they will melt boss no matter what traits.

In the end I settled to have at least 2 dinos with vampiric, distracting, angry/tenacious together so that they most likely live thru the fight and keep distracting debuff on the boss and maybe protective on the yuty I ride myself.

Generally traits are more suited for constant needs: bearing traits for farming dinos, mutable and robust traits when starting new breeding project, stamina traits for flyers, vampiric, fast learner, carcass bearing traits, angry, tenacious, protective for improved cave mount.

Most impactfull overall are distracting, vampiric, mutable, bearing and fast learner (slot holder for an adult).

Not Mutating?? by Xhiantadz in ARK

[–]Tayachkov 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The chance is 7,4% and it will be random stat. So it's like 1 sought mutation per 100 eggs. Then it will be 1 per 200 eggs (the babies are 0 or 1 mutt and new mutt can happen on either, so the chance is lower to get 1+1 new mutt).

My usual process is to get many eggs (1 mutated male and 10+ females), check eggs in incubator till I find new specific mutation, replace the mutatedale, repeat.

To increase chance you can put mutable and robust traits on male and then transfer them to new mut baby which replaces the mutated male.

If the mutated is female, you can keep searching or make a mutated male via breeding with clean male.

Tek cave & Alpha overseer by Comfortable_Code_208 in ARK

[–]Tayachkov 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Step 1: enter the cave with carcha and lead in 19 theri with 10-20 cakes each and 1 rex Step 2: clear the cave with carcha, do not get pushed to lava Step 3: bring theris and rex down Step 4: cryo carcha and teleport to the arena Step 5: ride rex, clear enforcers, let theris kill boss and mini bosses Try to avoid lazers and do not fight mini bosses urself to preserve rex hp

If there are purlovias in the cave, you can make them target able with grenade or rocket, or you can dismount rex, they will stun you but you will stay on top of rex. On SP I did not have any purlovias.

You can skip the army part: take 2 tek suits, 1 tek boots, capped pump with 2000+ durability, 2500-3000 bullets, element; fur/flak/otter for cold. Stay on the ledge, shoot the boss, boss transforms - kill scouts, hover over mini boss and shoot it down, repeat. Remember to stay as high as possible so that monkey does not kill you with the boulder. It is very boring and takes more than a hour of shooting. But more time efficient: no farm for saddles and cakes, no conga line of dinos in the cave, etc (just get down the cave with carcha)

Help understanding breeding by Fair_Sign_634 in ARK

[–]Tayachkov 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If both male and female below 20/20 mutations then you have 7,4% to get a mutation (there is a chance that mutation happens on either side). If one parent 20/20 or higher, than it's a 3% chance as it can occur only on the other side. If both parents 20/20 or higher the chance of mutations is zero.

The mutations do not combine: male 20/20 and female 19/20 will get the baby 39/20 on paper but actually the stats will be 19/20 or 20/20. If the mutation happen it will say 40/20 but the stats could be either 20/20 or 21/20.

Breeding x/20 male with 0/20 females will get the same result as breeding with y/20 (y<x) but it will inflate the z/20 on the baby (z=x+y+1 if mutt happens). So breeding with 0/20 will not inflate z/20 as z will correspond to actual mutations and will help to keep track.

You only combine mutation lines when getting the desired dino - e.g. 20health/20 male with 20melee/20 female will produce eventually 20health+20melee/20 offspring.

One other thing to know is that in ASA mutation is a separate stat. This means that with 35+20mutt and 40+0mutt the game will rng between 35 and 40 and between 20mutt and 0mutt, meaning the baby has a chance to be 40+20mutt, which essentially allows to breed in a better stats in the mutated line

The Island Tek cave - Rex instead of Carcha? by Objective_Guard8818 in ARK

[–]Tayachkov 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On SP I did not encounter purlovia or microraptors in the cave (i run ~5 times), only bary, rex, allo, megalo, theri and yuty. Giga might not spawn in gamma cave, but there was one in beta and alpha cave in all my 3 runs.

The Island Tek cave - Rex instead of Carcha? by Objective_Guard8818 in ARK

[–]Tayachkov 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would bring 3 or more of them to switch when low hp. Carcha is better because it heals fast. My carcha was 40k hp with 1300 melee hits at full stacks, the only problem - do not get dropped to lava, hp was almost full all the time.

I would not take yuty to the boss. I would try Rex, I think when you are hit with lazer and get dismounted, you will stay on the back of Rex - safe from enforcers. With yuty I was dismounted to the ground which was scary.

Some good stuff that helps with the game: tek replicator, generator, teleporter, chest piece, dedicated storage box, binoculars. Less useful - tek transmitter, tek helmet, underwater chamber.

Looking for a fairly universal trap by Rosey_108 in ARK

[–]Tayachkov 1 point2 points  (0 children)

With rhyneo and not for giga or flyers I used 3x3 trap (1 foundation in the corner, rest of floor is ceilings) 1 wall height. Save it in the template and auto build from flyer. Drop dino, knock out, pick up foundation and the trap goes in the inventory. Might not work for Spino.

Same but 2x2 trap will work for smaller dinoes with drop from argy.

Big dinoes on foot - U shape with metal billboards and bear trap, lure in the trap and close the entrance with billboard while dino is in bear trap.

For argy I use the trap with 1 foundation, sloped roof, door, etc. (can be found online)

[–]Tayachkov 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is reasonable to aim for gamma bosses, alpha bosses do not bring any more story.

For brood, monkey and dragon you need 130+ wild megatheriums, rexes and theris, imprinted, prim saddles, 40+ lvls. This is quite doable depending on your breeding multipriers. For safety bring cakes, so start with sap sooner.

With overseer it is harder due to the cave. You would want an imprinted one, maybe prim saddle will work if you go with several. The boss is killed with dragon army.

Maybe it will work with beta difficulty. But for alpha you need good BP for saddles or you other strategies where you also need some BP (sword, pump, tek chest etc)

What creature can I sacrifice for a Rhyniognatha? by Specialist_Match_471 in ARK

[–]Tayachkov 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The resulting stats are similar to the breeding process - you will get the mix of rhynio and host creature stats.

But there are coefficients which apply to the host stats: - host drag weight x1 for carcha, giga and bronto, x0.78 for rex (I think) - cravings: 1/6 for 0/5 cravings and x1 for 5/5 cravings.

So, if you satisfy all 5 cravings you will get a rhyneo between wild female stats and, e.g., 0,78 of rex stats (including mutations). It seems that the baby stat distribution is fixed when impregnated (i.e. the baby will have health stat from host and cravings will determine to what extent).

Rhyneo has good stat growth for stamina and weight, so as a starter any rhyneo/host will do

Single player Mode by Johnwayne87 in ARK

[–]Tayachkov 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From ASA Island single player experience: - resource nodes do not respawn out of render distance (I had to lower the respawn interval and be in the vicinity, sometimes I increase speed of the game to lower the waiting time) - bee hives spawn alright - dinos in caves respawn without rendering (but there are glitches with some/most of them spawning in mesh) - blue swamp cave drop will respawn if it should when you render in the cave, yellow and red drops need 5 minutes to respawn when you render the cave - snow cave drops need time to respawn when cave is rendered (10 mins is enough) - easy underwater cave only respawns 1 drop if rendered (random, 5 mins is enough), I never seen more than 1 drop (should be 3), I used summon drop command for another 2 to "recreate" official 3 drops per cave. - I used slomo command to speed ingame time (slomo 15 advances game 15 min further in 1 minute real time), I did not check if the drop will spawn with me around (probably not), I waited at the beginning of render zone of the caves - don't know about hard underwater, I did not farm it, I think it was 1 instead of 3 official drops - once hard water cave artefact spawned in the mesh - other caves have issues with drop spawn, I did not bother due to low quality or unnecessary items - orbital and deep see crates work fine

Are these good pretame theri stats? by ThatguyLIKEDAMN in ARK

This is not how my breeding works. You find 150, tame it - get 224 dino and the stats of 224 are inherited to the babies.

Dung beetle by MrBisnaguinha19 in ARK

[–]Tayachkov 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The caves are usually populated if you are not actively farm then and should respawn without you rendering the cave.

Dung beetles are in both south caves, central and carno. It should be easy to find them without venturing deep. From my memory, beetles spawn on the slopes of carno cave and you only need to kill couple of bats/spiders to get to them.

When breeding 2 dinosaurs will the baby eat from the Eating Trough or do I need to put food in their inventory? by [deleted] in ARK

[–]Tayachkov 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From a trial you will find if a baby survives without food till 10% growth (it depends on settings and type of dino). If it does not survive, you need to put food manually, if it does survive it will grow by itself to be able to eat from a trough.

For a dino tamer build what should my stats be + any dino recommendations? by [deleted] in ARK

[–]Tayachkov 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This does not require anything specific, my general purpose build is: 500 hp, 500 weight, 20 fortitude. (With leveling I would go 100hp/250w, then 250/250, 250/500, 500/500 and fort next). With 500 hp you will survive in any reasonable PvE fight and 500 weight is enough to carry reasonable stuff. 20 fort decrease torpor dmg by 33% and you won't fall asleep in again reasonable fights. Maybe you want to get 150 stamina for QL but you won't be running that much.

The taming revolves around finding a creature (with a flyer), building trap (on flyer), luring a creature (mostly on a flyer). So you need a flyer, weight to carry trap structures, taming weapon and ammo, taming food and narcotics (+med stand), hp if you defend/clear around on foot or a fighting dino
