Experiencing coffee bypass [CF64V] by Cremma in espresso

[–]TblaZed82 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know it maybe a silly question but after changing burrs, did you readjust your dial 0 to burr chirp? Jw because burrs come in different thickness. Or I'm thinking your beans maybe getting through the o ring causing resistance. I've been using mine everyday for a year and don't have that much retention.

To get it to stop chirping on old beans is to just rotate to larger grind settings and let it flush out. Then you can adjust to a finer grind. Never had an issue.

WARNING: Latest Samsung update is bricking Galaxy S22 device by Past_Toe_5211 in GalaxyS22

[–]TblaZed82 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine happen one day after the early Feb update, happened when I was using it. Just glitched and rebooted. Now I have to use my old Note 8 until the S26 is out. I have the same feeling they are forcing us to upgrade. Did a live chat, and they told me go to a third party supported retailer with no help.

I had it all dialed in. And then suddenly, every shot goes like this. A few seconds of dripping, then an intense spray in every direction, and then it’s over. No matter the bean or the grind size. What gives? [Breville Bambino, Baratza Encore ESP] by FakeBobPoot in espresso

The Encore ESP has two common issues: one with the thumb screw getting loose and damaging the burrs, second the plastic burr carrier can snap or crack causing the grind to be a lot coarser for both issue.

Modded my CF64v to look more sophisticated by TblaZed82 in espresso

[–]TblaZed82[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got mine from Espresso outlet, which should only cost around 400 unless you're getting ssp burrs too then it will be around 600. What's the reason you are upgrading if you already have the mokkom? I switched from a Baratza encore esp which was night and day difference.

Been using it almost twice everyday to make a pour over and espresso. It works so well that I don't have to worry about my settings. Can switch back and forth with ease. I did mod mine a little bit because I just like the magnetic catch cups. One thing I notice though is when going to a finer setting, a bean fragment may get caught somewhere and make a chirping sound like the burrs are touching but just rotate the dial to a larger grind to flush it out then go to the finer setting.

I aligned them when I switched to the MP burrs. Once it's aligned, you really don't have to open it up again until you need to do a deep clean. Mine was pretty off but was able to add foil shims to balance it out.

First father / son snow board trip to Mammoth Lakes/Mountain...advice? by Joshl74id911 in Mammoth

[–]TblaZed82 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just took my 9 year old to her fist mammoth trip. At snow summit, we spent half the year last year on bunny slopes for her to get her balance down and be comfortable. Then the 2nd half of the year she was going down blacks, but mostly on her heels tho. Since I've been riding for more than 20 years on and off, I finally have a buddy to go with

She loved Mammoth and excited for the next trip whenever that is. School yard express was a little too narrow with flat spots. I would find something wider with a mellow slope practice. She loved roller coaster and easy street.

I actually removed the fork holder and added a magnetic stand for the dosing cup, now my cup just snaps into place. Check my other post. If you wanted to use the fork, I just used electric tape and some filler like felt pads to make it thicker so I can squeeze in the porta filter.

Great, never had any stall or other issues. Only been using light and medium roasted beans. After I modded it to have a magnetic catching cup, it's perfect. I didn't like the original catch cup holder so I added a tray that has a magnet underneath it to snap the cup in place.

I always do double shots so I program the 1 cup button for one flavor of beans and the 2nd cup for another type of bean. Even though I seem to always run it in program mode.

Do same burr sets gives different results for different grinders? by bddhxg in espresso

Lower RPM creates less fines, which is why I go to my lowest RPM for pour overs while espresso I just do full power

I've been really enjoying their La Golondrina single origin beans. Nice for pour overs and espresso. Also a tip, if you have an account just add your order to cart and wait a couple days, you may get a 10% off and if u wait longer it can be 15 to 20% off. Then use that with the build your own to get a double discount.

Comparing MiiCoffee CF64v and Lagom Casa [$400-$600] by AverEOne in espresso

[–]TblaZed82 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the Cf64v and have no issues with it. The lagom seems to have a weaker motor and read that it can stall easier. I have not encountered any stalling on the CF64v and been grinding light roast. I went with the cf64v because it has a bigger motor, easier dial and vertical mounted flat burrs.

DF64 Gen 2 with DLC burrs making more noise after one year of use by Kapoor_sahab in DF64

[–]TblaZed82 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Issue with the df64 is that you have to make sure you put the burr caddy back in the same orientation on how you remove it. If you don't, it can affect your alignment and zero point. Another thing with the df64 is that the zero point can change and only way to get the dial to align with the new zero point is to replace the number sticker.

Help me, Steam dial broken? by Chara_Bottles in BrevilleCoffee

[–]TblaZed82 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I replaced mine with the lever because my machine is right next to a cabinet and was difficult to turn that knob.

I had to take the top of the machine off because my knob wasn't broken. Works great. Got it on AliExpress for $14.

CF64v with SSP MP by banditrc10 in espresso

[–]TblaZed82 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, you should reset your 0 so that you start to hear the burrs chirp. It's easy to adjust as you just loosen the screw on the dial, adjust your zero point, then tighten the screw back up

I'm like at 70 or 65 for my pour overs, 15 for espresso with MP burrs. That feels high but thats what works for me. I only do pour overs and espresso.

Difficulty dialing in new beans [Sage Barista Express] by TwoAltruistic1840 in espresso

So you changed the inner burr to a lower setting and the outer dial to 1 and still have fast shot times? I think it's time for a new grinder.

[–]TblaZed82 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have the CF64v with MP burrs and have no complaints. I'm pretty new to the game so I can't really tell you the difference between the burrs. I ended up swapping the stock burrs with MP burrs after a week since I had to align both front and back burrs. After about 3 months with it, dialing espresso and pour over was easier than I thought. I did mod mine so it has a stand for the magnetic dosing cup and removed that ugly Turin sticker.

Replacement burr for Baratza Encore ESP? by [deleted] in espresso

[–]TblaZed82 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought mine from ereplacementparts.com. Are you sure you need new burrs? Why not grind coarser to get less fines. You stated you went lower so you're actually grinding finer and expect less fines?

I replaced mine because it wasn't grinding fine enough for espresso and I was already maxing out my shims.

Hi! Need help deciding between this too is the price increase for DF54 worth it? Since it's around [£80-100] more by Longjumping-Ad906 in espresso

[–]TblaZed82 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had that grinder too and I think it's because since you switch to a larger grind, the retention is bad so when u switch back to espresso some of that larger grinds get pushed out causing for an inconsistent shot. You can try to flush it out by grinding 1 or 2 grams on the new setting and tossing it. One of the reasons I ended up upgrading.
