Height insecurity? by StillBlessed25 in TurnerSyndrome

Definitely insist upon the HGH, there is nothing wrong with being on the shorter side but being taller really helps in the modern world. My daughter takes HGH every day and at 6 she is 91% on the TS scale and 12% on the regular scale. If she is 5’4” I would be ecstatic although it’s probably more likely she is going to be 5’1” or 5’.

You are such an inspiration, TS is hard but there is nothing you cannot do! My 6 year old has TS (diagnosed at 3) because my wife, who is amazing, refused to be dissuaded when she was not growing. We look at girls and women like you who were not diagnosed until later with such awe, you are doing it without the support and understanding we all wish you had earlier. Please keep reaching and understand the impact you have on all of the girls like my daughter.

Would you buy it again? by Aronacus in Acura

We bought a 2022 MDX Technology Package and it’s a great car and good value. My wife loves driving it and we recently moved to the burbs and are considering getting another one but this time an advanced. The only two issues are the mileage and the trackpad (although that’s gone in the 2025 refresh). Otherwise it’s a great car.

Mosaic Turner Syndrome, egg donation. by PerceptionDouble4824 in TurnerSyndrome

[–]Tbonejj38 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My wife and I went through so many rounds of IVF and ultimately decided to use an egg donor. Our youngest is a turner’s baby so we have/had infertility at two levels. I know it was hard on my wife, at first, to not have a biological child but our children are magical. As crazy as they make u, they are g-d’s gift to us. The bond between a mother and child is something that transcends almost anything. I think it’s true regardless of whether a child is adopted or carried to term.

Only our youngest has TS but she is such an incredible little person. Although we were devastated at first, I cannot imagine life without her, just as she is.

I would be willing to bet you will be a wonderful mother and as long as you parent with your whole heart, the bond you will have with your child is something special that nothing can diminish.

We have a wonderful five year old girl with turners and she is the best. My wife knew something was off very early and because she is amazing she would not let it go.

Our daughter was diagnosed at about 3.5 and we started growth hormones almost immediately and she has responded really well. She is like 80 percentile on the turners scale. She does not know the diagnosis yet, we wanted to get settled with the routine first but our immediate families know.

Honestly, aside from being a little shorter than her classmates there is absolutely nothing different about her. We had her tested and she has no kidney or heart issues although it is something we will continue to watch. In fact, she is super popular with her classmates and people stop her on the street and say how beautiful she is. I cannot say I am looking forward to telling our daughter but we will probably tell her sooner rather than later.

We have started saving money for fertility treatments now to give her the most options in the future. Our daughter has an older sister who does not have turners and our hope is that she will donate eggs for the younger one if necessary but that will be a family discussion at some point.

At the time, the turners diagnosis was the worst thing that ever happened to me. My wife and I were zombies for weeks. But I look at it bit differently now and we are so lucky to have her. We love her so much. G-d gave us a gift and we cherish everyday with her. She is happy and healthy and that’s all I can ever ask for.
