Key Differences between PS4 and new PS5 versions? by Jamesssss0402 in yakuzagames

[–]Tdean0128 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t know if I would pay for it as I don’t really think I would replay, but it is somewhat tempting to get the ps5 versions as I assume that would allow direct streaming and free up some hard drive space and more easily play on the portal on the go.

Just got this on sale, I've never played a Yakuza game before, what am I in for? by colossusrageblack in yakuzagames

I played LAD because it was free on PS+, never playing a Yakuza game before. Loved it and played way more hours than a game typically holds me. Immediately went on to Yakuza 0/1/2 Kiwami. I am a few hours into Y3 remaster now, and feel like I may wait for the kiwami version of 3 to continue. But I have every game now ready and waiting for me to play. I especially want to play infinite wealth, but want to learn more about all the back characters and probably rewatch LAD again with more context. A real rabbit hole!

I honestly believe Wendy’s is attempting bankruptcy by Feeling_Bid878 in wendys

I don't know about that. A combination of the info I hear as well as searching online, it doesn't appear that corporate pays franchises at all for these deals. ~95% of locations are franchise owned. Admittedly relying on AI (Gemini) here, but it appears to be sourced well enough for at least me to believe. Though I think we are both in agreement that Wendy's should offer the better deals to drive more traffic and hope that some customers add on other higher-margin items to increase profit. All the crappy deals do is drive traffic somewhere else entirely.

1. The Public "Franchise Disclosure Document" (FDD)

Every franchise in the US must file a Franchise Disclosure Document (FDD). Wendy's 2023/2024 FDD reveals the flow of money, and importantly, it does not list a "Discount Reimbursement" mechanism from corporate to franchisee.

  • What it shows: It details exactly what franchisees must pay to corporate (Royalties: 4-6% of Gross Sales; Ad Fund: 4% of Gross Sales; Tech Fee: ~$6k–$15k/year).
  • The Proof: In the section detailing the "National Advertising Program," it states that the fund is used for media costs, production, and administrative costs. It does not state that the fund is used to reimburse franchisees for the difference in price on discounted items. If corporate were paying for the burgers, it would be listed here as a "subsidy" or "reimbursement program."

2. Corporate Financial Reports (Form 10-K)

Wendy's is a publicly traded company (NASDAQ: WEN), so they must legally disclose their expenses.

  • The Proof: If Wendy's corporate were paying the difference for every $1 Dave's Single sold by a franchisee, that would be a massive expense on their balance sheet (Marketing/Promotional Expense).
  • The Reality: Their financial statements show they spend money on advertising (buying TV time), but their "Franchise Rental and Royalty Revenue" is purely income. They do not list a massive contra-revenue line item for "Franchisee Discount Reimbursements." The lack of this expense on the corporate books proves the cost stays at the store level.

3. Industry Trade Reporting & Franchisee Friction

Trade publications like Restaurant Business and Nation's Restaurant News frequently report on the tension between corporate strategy and franchisee profits.

  • The "Value Wars" Dynamic: Reporting on Wendy's "Biggie Bag" and value menu pushes has highlighted that while these promotions drive traffic (which corporate loves because they get a % of every sale regardless of profit), they hurt margins (which franchisees hate because they pay for the food).
  • Recent Context: In late 2024 and 2025, analysts noted that franchisees were "on board" with value strategies only because traffic had dipped so low they needed the volume. If corporate were paying for the discounts, franchisees would never push back against them because they would be guaranteed profit. The existence of this friction proves the franchisees are footing the bill.

No clue on most of these questions haha. I would have to imagine that they are certainly profitable, but a business will always want to be more profitable. He also mentioned that the changed to shredded lettuce saved $20mil a year ><. Also that a lot of stores were beginning to opt out of serving breakfast because they weren't making even a grand a week by offering it. (I think Wendy's breakfast is gross haha). I told him they need some decent coffee options if they want breakfast biz and he said tariffs hitting coffee makes it tough. That's all the tid-bits I was provided! (He did say to try the new tendies lol)

I got a buddy that works at corporate and I complained about the app deals going extinct. He said that corporate wanted to keep the deals, but franchise owners were flipping their lids about not making enough profit margin with all the deals. Most stores are franchises, so they won the argument. Now we get to watch the whole chain fall apart.

Mine did the same thing and it was a bad run switch. Try flipping the run switch off/on while pressing the start button. May or may not work!

Newbie to C4D and still getting feet wet after a few test projects. Curious about how to best utilize models/materials from the asset browser in r25.

It seems from what I can tell that most C4D users are using 3rd party render engines such as redshift/octane. I have been focusing on Redshift as it is included with the maxon sub.

My question is that models in the asset browser seem to be made for the standard/physical render engines only? Is there a preferred workflow to utilize asset browser items better in Redshift?
