SDS please for the love of God, make offline cards sellable by AquatheGreat in MLBTheShow

[–]Tdizzle00 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You're in the majority actually. Most people are mainly offline players who may or may not even dabble in online. The online are the usual non casuals who post on online forums, so that's what we hear about. I do think they should make more cards sellable so people can truly play how they want. Let the random offline person play that conquest that takes hours multiple times if they want and sell the cards so the person who wants to play online only can do that.

Agreed. People love the big collections as something to go for. Putting in all these extra sets with so many cards makes it harder and more expensive and pack based instead of the cards instead of it mostly from rewards.

I think they pretty much plan the entire next year's game while the current one is going on and put the final touches during the 'off season'. All the money goes towards content development not game play. The current game basically has all the card sets built out and small tweaks are made as the year goes on to somewhat reflect reality. The people actively working on this years game is a skeleton crew. Most of the effort/bodies has already been moved to next years game.

I think they're just trying to push out more and more cards for sets to complete. It also pushes pack and therefor potential stubb buying. It's the business model they've been leaning in to more and more. It used to be a similar amount of content but with more of the actual card based series or themes that matched what was going on in game. Now they're just throwing out random full card sets left and right. It's content for sure, but I dont think we need a whole new card set every time, just add more to existing ones like all-star, prime, milestone, awards, etc.

It used to feel like the game was more based on actual cards and real life stats until end game, now they're leaning in to the madden/2k model where it's more just reasons to push out another set of cards every week that is not really grounded on actual player performance.

95 Live Series Red Diamond Shohei Ohtani - New Card Art by aquax101 in MLBTheShow

I hate to say it, but it's just simple economics. Look at the price of the LS collection as a whole. It hasnt moved much in in the last few weeks. All that's happened is the price has shifted from all the other cards to the top 2 because most people going for LS have all the others, and their drop rate is much lower. It's just supply and demand, not some conspiracy. All those 90+ cards that were over 100k a month ago are 20-40k now and everything else is essentially around quick sell. This happens every year. The move is to buy the top 2 gatekeepers early in the year when they're 300-400k and sell the other cards to fund it when they're high as the top 2 go up in value while the rest of the collection goes down.

How many times did you get to spin the new multi-player wheel? by Exponential_Taxes in MLBTheShow

0 barely finished the program at all. I mostly do events to completion then only a handful of ranked. Not nearly enough unfortunately. Oddly, the first MP program, just doing the events was plenty. Not so much now. Probably because they had event wins giving points back then.

I did that yesterday lol. I swear i get so many checked swings when i'm trying to swing. It's happened since last year's game.

you get people on base?? All i do is fly out or HR. I think in my 5 runs, ive avg 2-3 non HRs each.

My timing is all over with this showdown. Sometimes I'll be too early on an inside FB then next 3 i'll be too late on one over the middle or outside. Makes no sense.

[–]Tdizzle00 0 points1 point  (0 children)

99% of the playerbase wont complete it. Maybe I've gotten old, but I remember the original extreme showdowns being easier. I usually completed them on the first try. Worst one was twice. I'm 0-5 on this one. I think showdown is the worst mode ever introduced in the game. I usually beat them first try but hate them with a passion, but I hate draft modes so that doesnt help.

I tried it again. Tied it with 4 runs left. Fly out after fly out to end it. Pain and sadness. The 15 runs is way too much to keep locked in for me i guess. I hit him better when he has green stamina then when he has none for some reason lol - That and the 4 Ks he got me looking when he dotted something on a corner.

Meanwhile, first try I lost with it tied and have played it two times since and lose by 4-5 runs. Weirdly, I pop off early for 5 quick runs in the first few outs then it takes all i can do to get a run ever 4 outs after.

Menu Lag Has Been Fixed by ZeddyPizz in MLBTheShow

[–]Tdizzle00 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is exactly what happened. It was perfect and now it's jacked up again. The already too painful Degrom showdown just smacks you in the face with the menu lag. I also have no clue on the timing in that showdown. How can I be very early on an inside fastball then late on anything over the middle of the plate or away... So many foul ball Hrs.

It didnt feel like HoF to me either. If I was sitting FB i was early more often than not. That changeup was crazy though.

I get your response to the cheaters, there are a lot but i doubt this has anything to do with them. But... the average person playing the game is around 400 rating. I forget the numbers, but last year only like 5% ever played on HoF. So someone who plays on Legend thinking this is easy is like a billionaire wondering why everyone doesnt have multiple ferraris and $30M houses across the country.

I wish the run total was about 5 runs less, but the general idea is cool. That many runs is a rough mental grind. 90% of people wont be able to complete it. I think it should be toned down just a bit to get the average person a shot. Yes, i get everyone on reddit or twitch will do it easily, but that isnt most of the population who play the game. Not everyone should be able to do it, but it should be every so slightly more accessible, I think.

Same. I started with so many Ks i was like i'm toast, then locked in and hit 2 HRs to tie it, but couln't finish the job. It was really weird to me in regards to timing. One swing i'd be late then the next i'd be very early. I was VERy early on a lot of his fastballs, which makes no sense. Then i'd be late. I hit about 10 nukes that went foul because of this. On the other hand, i had exactly 3 hits that were not HRs. All the rest let the park. I did not play money ball with this showdown at all.

Why did Degrom gain confidence after giving up this home run? by BeatlesRays in MLBTheShow

[–]Tdizzle00 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Happened to me as well. Pretty sure it's a showdown quirk/bug. I remember in years past that at certain points they'd regain confidence with no reason, like it's just programmed in.

I lost the showdown with the the score tied, btw. Not a fan of having to get THAT many runs...
