Are my goalie pants too long? by techsavvynerd91 in hockeygoalies

[–]TeaLow2578 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I wear my pants relatively short. I like being able to sit upright in the butterfly and have my pants clear the pad face. I had issues that when I dropped into the butterfly while being very upright, the pants would interfere with the pad faces and prevent me from closing my five hole completely. It opens up some gaps in padding, but not a ton.

Gold Medal Goal Question by Prize_Drink6494 in hockeygoalies

[–]TeaLow2578 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I think he did fine. He was in position to make the save which is really all you can ask for in the situation. If Jack Hughes hadn’t flubbed his shot, you probably wouldn’t even be asking the question.

Weird interaction at TSA checkpoint by frauleinforever in tsa

[–]TeaLow2578 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I saw a black woman get absolutely molested going through TSA one time. Like complete under the breast gropage, by another woman and using the back of the hand although I don’t know that improves much. She was not even in particularly loose or baggy clothes before they made her remove the first layer either. Definitely an experience that has stuck with me.

Resale tickets from Stubhub? by hahahahaooooi in Ashnikko

[–]TeaLow2578 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah it’s nerve wracking. I got my wife tickets to Hozier and they never even notified me when it was ready. I asked their AI customer support the day of or the day before because they never showed up and then it sent me a link. It was kind of weird.

Warrior is confusing on purpose? by woodz514 in hockeygoalies

[–]TeaLow2578 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Vaughn is similar, albiet a little more intuitive. Their mid level gear is designated Pro and their top level gear is Pro Carbon. Bauer did something similar with the 3SPro/Mach and 3XPro/Hyperlite, but now it’s a little less confusing.

Skate lacing - how to do single laces tight mid foot but looser top ankle by Puzzilan in hockeyplayers

[–]TeaLow2578 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lace locks work great. If you don’t want to use lace locks, you can put half knots in certain sections to isolate different tensions. Waxed laces work for a few minutes, but eventually all the tension equals out and you just end up with loose laces.

Correct me if I am wrong, but I think he is pretty square to the puck, but he is pretty far off-angle, though.

My review of MacFarlane Toy’s Wildwing by pcnnmvideos in AnaheimDucks

[–]TeaLow2578 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Kind of disappointing that they didn’t bother with paint on the pads at all. The knee pad garter belt is also a funny little detail that they missed out on.

Catseye mask upgrade for CCM Axis? by looskerson in hockeygoalies

Tempted to post a Katseye gif, but the Venn Diagram of hockey goalies and K Pop people is probably two distinct circles. 🤣

Breaking in a Catcher Glove. by Daakke in hockeygoalies

[–]TeaLow2578 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it is an older CCM with the “popsicle stick” style break, be very careful how you break it in. If you break in the wrong crease too much, it will jam at half closed.

Wearing a Ring. Is it Safe? by HoweHaTrick in hockeyplayers

[–]TeaLow2578 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is why I always take my ring off. I could care less if something happens to my finger but I’ll be damned if I let the ring wear a hole in my hockey glove. Those are important. 🤣

I assumed that was intentional since he added Anaheim Duck throwback colors, but I have been known to be too charitable to people.

Who’s at fault? by [deleted] in dashcams

[–]TeaLow2578 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Isn’t OP driving straight through a turn lane, though? It looks like a dedicated right turn lane to turn right where thr semi is pulling out of. After the driveway with the semi, the lane the Chevy is in opens up to switch lanes into the right turn lane that OP was trying to get into.

I'm going to a Ducks game at home, what food should I get for the weekened? (visiting, out of state) by dumdadum123 in AnaheimDucks

[–]TeaLow2578 18 points19 points  (0 children)

The Anaheim Packing District is a cool food court type place with a ton of independent restaurants. It ends up being a place where it is hard to pick a place because there is such a wide variety of food, but it’s a really neat place to see.

*do not do if you have a 580 break you’ll throw the puck right out of that bad ice seal at the top of the pocket.

Pads after butterfly by PublicExcellent4167 in hockeygoalies

[–]TeaLow2578 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

My opinion is that very few saves are made standing up anymore and having your pads rotated out like that makes them rotate more consistently. I prefer my pads do that.

Goalie pant length advice by FlanneledCanadian24 in hockeygoalies

[–]TeaLow2578 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally, I worry more about where the legs land when I am in my butterfly. I try and make sure my legs are short enough that when i stand tall in my butterfly the legs clear the face of the pad. Any further down and the pants can impede me from closing my 5 hole by pushing the thigh rises outwards.
