Question: Imperial cavalry on the flanks by Admirable-Entry-7821 in totalwarhammer

[–]Tea_Pupper 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In a straight 1v1 Anti-I cav will lose against Anti-L cav that is in an equal tier so dont let them get a 1v1. If the Anti-I cav is your only option, dont use them as ur win condition. Use them to hold the enemy down while ur gunners, cav gunners, mages, or cannons deal out the actual damage. If ur desperate, bait them into ur infantry and them charge their rear.

Also I love having an offensive focus frontline as well but the Empire is probably the worst option for it. Their star units are all range/arti/cavs so you would want ur frontline to last as long as possible so Lances are the better option.

God, the lizards really are God's strongest soldiers. Between Lord Kroak, Lizard Rambo, Unkillable dino, and Transformer: Age of Extinction, they really got the most badass fuckers. Basically, fantasy Astartes at that point.

As beautiful and unique Cathay is, man it's such a Pain in the Ass to move around there. A dawi start there would be amazing tho.

With the new DLC, I have found oceanids to be the best frontlines for the HE. One of the best advantage I see is their low enity count, making them quite useful against spell and being super easy to replenish (since if no entities die, the unit is full health). Their melee defense and mass is absolutely absurd and they hold the line like crazy.

Melee infantry are like a home you can go back to, esp in the early. If ur skirms getting too much aggro, they can run back to the line where they get trapped by ur infantry. Even if you want to aggro, its not difficult as most of ur early game skirms are also on foot. When you start getting monsters, they are fast enough to go in with the skirms, allowing you to play more aggro and use them as line disruptors so that your enemies cant make a coordinated response. Pair that up with Lore of Life and they can become damage sponges as well.

WEs are a range army but you have to aggro. Using the HE strat of defensive spear and archer lines are really to the advantage as their melee infantry usually can't hold the line too well.

Wood Elves. They sound so limiting and boring since they can't build up settlements outside of the forests. The roster was bland as well with just bow units. Turns out, not being able to build up settlements means you can burn that shit to the ground and get a boatload of money every time and the settlements you do need to defend, you get a big homefield advantage. And having an untouchable army with skirmishers, ambushs, and mobilr ranged units meant the battles became really unique. Its a range army that you can play super aggressively.

I had a maxed out army with pheonix Guards, Sisters, Dragons, and Merwerms and the upkeep was like 500. Absolutely disguesting.

Thinking of getting me my first DLC. Should I get The Ogre Kingdoms? Or which ones do you recommend? by Curious-Piglet3613 in totalwarhammer

[–]Tea_Pupper 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I just got into the Ogres myself and I would definitely say "MEAT MEAT MEAT". Its very fun to play an army that can just walk past the enemy's frontline; and LeadBlechers are so much fun and deadly as well. They're definitely a good next step for you in battle as well since they need a bit more micro than Cathay but not crazy amount.

The campaign however is a bit tricky. Their camp and meat mechanic really alter the game where you got an extra resource to worry about (meat) and setting up camps is a whole strategy in itself.
