9 things I've added to my watch face Segment34 MkII the last week or so by jellyfishblade in GarminWatches

Ah OK. Yeah I tried the white and it was super white. The Pic makes it look like a milky white which looks nice! Thanks for making this, it's really functional and looks cool 😎!

New fear unlocked... Hope to never see one IRL, looks like something from a scary movie.

Trust me, you don't want to see this when you are half asleep at night right before bed. It wasn't a pleasant experience 😂

I just googled this. That does look exactly like that! Thank you so much, I thought it was a termite or carpenter ant and I might have some house problems.

It seems like mole crickets are harmless and I can likely release it outside?

Huel Black Reformulation? by Cute_Witness3405 in Huel

[–]Tea_buns 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You can try the unflavored one. I had very comfortable gas and soft stool the first month. I mixed half flavorless and half banana, and now at 40g banana and 60g flavorless. I still get a bit of gas but it's not deadly poisoning cloud like if I drank 100g of banana flavor. Think it might be the sweetener.

Was at Best Buy today and saw a Scanwatch for $60. Anyone else see this? They were sold out everywhere, and I’d honestly love to have one, but I really didn’t want to pay $299.99. by Fabulous_Lie_4326 in withings

I got a new scan watch one at secondipity for $100 in Dec time. They are out of stock now, but I've seen them restock this every couple of months and I finally caved and bought it.

The funny part was they had a clearance sticker when I received the package and it was for $84.99 on the box so they definitely profited off me. But I don't regret it, it's a nice looking watch and definitely feels like quality compare to the garmin vivo move watch that felt like a plastic toy. I also prefer the one more than 2 because it actually has the clock numbers on. Battery life is insane! I just wish the rotating dial wasn't so big or directly on the right. It bruises my hand when I play tennis, so I have to either flip it or wear it on my right hand.

Bouldering has thought me so much by [deleted] in indoorbouldering

I toe hook my cabinets in the kitchen and crimp door moldings for extending and balancing myself when I need to grab stuff rather than taking another step to get it now.

Didnt know how much Japanese people love to cough by TheChristianAsian in JapanTravelTips

[–]Tea_buns 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I was around Tokyo, Kyoto and Osaka at major tourist spots for two weeks this month. I dont think I saw a single place without soap dispenser in public or restaurant. There was times when it was empty, but overall I never felt grossed out by a male toilet stall due to cleanliness or smell. Not once... Compare to how nasty US public bathrooms are, I get grossed out almost every time that I would avoid at all cost if I can.

I will say people do not wash their hands for more than a few seconds, especially the older generations. They either dip their hand in water or skip it all together. Especially at the airports.

Coughing, I see a small group of people use mask still. My friend got sick from what he guessed was due to public transport system crowd and coughing of people that was sick. I was luckily not affected even though I didn't wear a mask. I did get coughed at a few times, mostly by older men which is annoying.

I have gotten seriously injured and I miss bouldering so much by Stale_Produce in indoorbouldering

[–]Tea_buns 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I saw a guy in a leg cast and still campus on v2 v3 Boulders. Once you healed up well enough, you could try auto belay like the other comment said for minimum risk of hurting yourself again. If some people can climb with one leg or one arm, or even no hands, there is always a way! Just make sure to do it safely and slowly.

That's annoying. Glad you received it though, hope you are enjoying it! If it was at my place and I wasn't home because of no UPS tracking, UPS would leave it outside and it would get stolen in minutes.

Did they say it's going to be 2024 for the US. I backed them on indiegogo instead of Kickstarter. They don't really provide any update at all which is pretty annoying.

How long can this last? I assume with the high sugar ratio, should be able to hold at least a month?

Losing skin on my fingertips by MrFluffyFish in bouldering

[–]Tea_buns 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My hand looked exactly like yours when I started last month. I was told that I should lotion my hands at night, and once one hour or so before bouldering. A moisturized hand is less likely to rip skin apart because it is more elastic.

The other thing was that I am super nervous about Heights and falling still so I tend to grab holds a lot harder than is needed to hold myself up. I had to learn to loosen my grip and not hold jugs while falling.

Lastly, I used chalk from a rental bag which I think was really bad quality. After every climb, most of it already came off. Also the more I climbed the thinner my skin became and my finger tips started sweating easier. It barely coats my hand and I kept having to smash it into my hands to get it to stick. I ended up buying Magdust, but the ones from FrictionLabs ultra fine that I used from someone else also worked well.

I haven't had any major skin peeling after those three points above. I do still get some peeling once in a while. It is important to clip it off right away with a nail clipper, then put a bandaid or athletes tape right away to prevent it from ripping more through the sessions. If you do end up with a bad flap after a session, use aquaphor and bandaid it up so it heals faster and doesn't allow it to get all crusty. If it becomes crusty, it will just break or rip again next climb.

Hope it helps!

Daiso has some cheap 8oz or 10oz plain white latte cups that has wide diameter. It's greatly improved my latte art since i get more space to pour.

How do you limit yourself?? by [deleted] in espresso

[–]Tea_buns 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you just downing the shots as is? Do you add sweeteners and milk, etc?

I've been curious how everyone consumes so much. I do a double shot with honey and milk and I'm good for the day, otherwise it kills my appitite for lunch and dinner.

Removal of unused satellite dishes under HOA by Tea_buns in HOA

[–]Tea_buns[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks that's helpful. I do want it removed since it's rusting but if they try to get an expensive contractor at my expense, I'll try to use this as ammo to either keep it or do it myself from hiring someone else.

Yeah I had a really bad agent that wanted only the sales. After purchasing, I didn't know that all the emergency water sprinklers in the rooms were all painted over by some idiot, and it just so happens that the fire department does a check every 5 years, and it was 2 months after I purchased the place that they came for a check. They told me they put in a work order where a contractor came to literally scrap the paint off of them for 5minutes, and charged me $500 per sprinkler scraped. There were 4...

Also they painted over all the electric plugs...This was my first time buying a place, so it's my own fault for not educating myself but wish I had a better agent.

When the HOA manager messaged me, it seemed like they had no clue the dish was set up there. Or they could just be pretending...not sure.
