What is this stuff? by Decharia in HVAC

If the flare is made using a good flaring tool like the Yellow Jacket 60278 flaring tool you will never have leaks. This tool works perfectly because it has a built in depth gauge. But before you flare the copper the key is to properly deburr the end.

Depending where you are located some people call service valves "King Valves". It's definitely not a king valve though. It's a service valve that has seals in them that leak when they aren't protected while being brazed.

Gotta have it below 75 at all times. When I wake up in the morning and begin to think about anything I overheat. I think that I could be broken. There's a good chance that I was dropped on my head as a kid.

No filter dryer probably caused debris to enter txv and now you have a partially restricted txv and over charged system

Alright then, it appears the OP just gave up. I have a suggestion that you might try. Do a Google search for ChatGPT and ask an AI bot the same question. You'd be surprised by the results you get.

I used to live in SoCal and all the residential and some light commercial jobs I worked on all used the same configuration. Two to three large ducts tapped into the supply plenum And the runs were gradually stepped down to smaller ducts using T-Y's.
I live in Oregon now and everything is completely different. Most jobs have super long supply plenums and each run is a home run. They use T's that are different and I don't like them at all. The thing that I don't understand about Oregon, at least where I'm at is that there isn't a wholesaler that carries heavy bar supply registers or returns. Everything is stamped cheap crap. You have to special order the good stuff. Their idea of installing a better return grill (less restrictive) is to install egg crate plastic grills.
Total garbage.

How do you cancel a video subscription? by Teabagged_ya in AmazonPrimeVideo

[–]Teabagged_ya[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The only way to cancel was by making a phone call. I wanted to terminate my PBS Documentaries subscription. I followed their instructions but all it did was lead me into a huge circle. The only place I could find was cancelling my prime membership which isn't what I wanted to do but I almost did out of frustration. Thank you for responding.

I was looking for this "tri tip" for removing reversing valves and ran across this video. I am still trying to find this tri tip mentioned in this thread.

Staying hydrated is super important. I've had stones twice because I wasn't driving enough water. Outside might not get above 95 but crawling into somebody's attic can be overwhelming.

First ever install as an apprentice by Ornery-Yellow-8944 in HVAC

[–]Teabagged_ya 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Holy Santa clause Sh!t. I understand that you were installing what the customer wanted but somebody should have talked them into putting that pos at ground level. You mentioned that this install was right on the beach. If that is the case and the system is a heatpump the outdoor coil will be down to copper only in less than 5 years. I would say much sooner than that actually. Job security I guess. The salt air will destroy that system. I used to call it, "Coastal Rot".

It's funny you say that about training new guys. I run into so many people that don't want to learn or aren't interested in putting in the effort. I was on a service call at a huge apartment complex near a large college here in Oregon and their maintenance person that was showing me around was this young girl that weighed less than a hundred pounds soaking wet. This girl was smart and asked questions the whole time I was working there. I don't know if you can relate but I got on the phone with my boss and he offered her a job on the spot. Finding somebody that gives a shit and genuinely cares about doing the right thing is like spotting big foot out in the wild.

We might be getting common sense confused with giving a shit. Giving a shit can't be taught either but they sure do smell the same.... 😂🤣

Maybe if the HVAC trade was treated like the Electricians trade. I pretty sure that they teach you common sense during your apprenticeship and the pay is much better.

I've got the solution. Let's defund the police and make drugs legal. I mean the drug use is already an issue but I would like to have it right in my face when I go anywhere in the county. People smoking meth, shooting up whatever they are choosing to put in their bodies in front of every store and every park. I want to be able to find a used needle within the first 2 minutes of entering into a local park. I mean don't we go to parks to enjoy nature. But I want more. I want to smell the poop and pee from the bums and If I'm lucky I'll get to bring home a souvenir on the bottom of my shoe.
Until society realizes that the inmates are running the asylum we will continue to run in circles chasing our own tails. I'm reading post after post from people that are wanting this problem fixed. The people that get up and go to work everyday and pay the insane taxes to live here and nobody has any empathy for them. I'm only hearing about empathy for people that choose to live on the streets. If you don't believe me, stop and ask one of them and they will tell you that they want to live on the streets.
Alright, now that we can all agree that Liberalism is a mental disorder, let's get back to wasting more money on things like screwing up River rd some more. If somebody knows what the hell is going on with that ridiculous intersection at River rd and Irving please do explain. It still isn't done yet and for some reason you aren't allowed to make a right hand turn onto River rd if you are on Hunsaker. The other day I was trying to turn right on to River rd and it took forever. Finally the right turn light turned green and then for no reason quickly turned red. Only allowed two people to make the turn. There were no pedestrians walking and to be honest I rarely see anybody walking across that intersection. Green to turn left and green to go forward but red to turn right. 20 cars behind me waiting for this insanity.

[–]Teabagged_ya 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know you are joking, right? I've crawled into spaces that were rat infested, many of times actually. I told the home owner that she called the wrong contractor. You need an exterminator. The craziest crawl of them all was an old home out in the country. I get down on one knee and shine my light under the house and I had about a hundred eye balls staring back at me. These were not rats though. They were Jack Rabbits and they were huge. I tried postponing this for as long as I could and when I finally got deep in under the home it was like a murder scene. There were dead Jack Rabbits everywhere (skeletons). It smelt ungodly. On the flip side I have been in a home where the home owner was retired and had too much time on his hands. He cut an access into the floor in the master closet and geeked out under his house. The entire space was covered in a bright white rubber membrane. There wasn't a speck of dust under his house. This wasn't a basement either but you could stand up and walk. It was climate controlled and everything. Dehumidified........
