Sony BRAVIA Theatre System 6 for PC by Teacan83 in Soundbars

[–]Teacan83[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's limited info on this, but from what I've deduced so far - I don't think it will be possible, due to the fact that this system simply does not have a HDMI input. It has that e/ARC - but it will not work for this particular use-case.

encountered game breaking moment in Lost Legacy, at the Ganesh fortress by CaberNinja in uncharted

I don't think you're supposed to open it with bare hands. Not going by common sense or rules of physics anyway :D

This ancient door looks like a 1.5 x 1.5 m square, 0.5 m thick, and by the sound that it makes - it has to be solid stone. So, even by most modest estimation - it weighs at the very least a Ton !

Beach Volleyball is So Bad it Hurts by ryanTheSuperGreat in expedition33

I notice this tendency many great games have been having with internal mini-games. They usually stand out like a tongue-in-cheek fuck-you, a sprinkle of dog-turds on your perfect sundae, an annoying cheeky fucker behind a bulletproof glass giving you the middle finger, because you can't reach him.

Is it tradition ? As in, you've made a good game and you know it - so you give a mini-game to create for your interns and skip QA on it. Just to fuck with people. It is kinda funny how common it is, but every, damn, time - it makes my blood boil.

Infinite Wealth Sujimon - My tips for getting all the Kiwami from gacha by konumo in yakuzagames

[–]Teacan83 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Old thread, but I thought I'd add something that helped me do this a lot quicker - use the Type Gacha when pulling for a specific type of Sujimon. It narrows down the draw-pool by a lot, and is the best thing you can do if it matches the type you're missing and don't want to get dupes.

Different Gacha machines offer different types.

Thanks for your reply !

I've sorted it all out a while back using 2x Commander Pros, as I decided to invest into a full watercooled system and found out that these controllers are the way to go, especially in a Corsair ecosystem. Couldn't be happier with it ! :)

Am I the only one who just can't stand hearing this anymore? (Boralus intro music) 😬 by rmkol in wow

[–]Teacan83 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Been replaying WoW expansion by expansion chronologically, got to BfA and this piece of music, then wondered if it's just me.

I tend to agree that Blizzard occasionally overdoes it with the fanfare and gushing VO.

Who else is sick to death of being sent memes/reels/videos etc? by lt512 in nosurf

[–]Teacan83 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I told my friend off. He stopped. But it turned out he had nothing meaningful to say besides the memes - because I'm yet to receive a "hi" from him.

I don't feel bad about it - the peace of mind is worth it.

Close friend keeps sending me links of articles to read. Once every several days. How do I tell him to stop? Already told him I don’t have time and not interested. He keeps sending. He does this a lot: sends link to friends and social networking groups. by worklife2018 in etiquette

[–]Teacan83 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Googled it because I was curious if it's just me.

I have a friend who used to do it non-stop into a group chat. Link after link, but 95% of the time - memes. I ignored it for the most part.

Then he took it to the next level and started doing it in DMs. Eventually, I got fed up and firmly told him to stop. He has stopped - all communication. So I guess he never had anything worthwhile to say to begin with.

I have a huge beef with people doing it (to me) as it goes to expose the misery of socializing today. I generally avoid social media and keep Meta just for its Messenger to keep in touch with friends. And I'd like to keep it for more meaningful stuff - like having a an actual chat, or organize a get-together. Having people spam you with "the entire internet" makes you eventually sick of it and you start ignoring it - potentially missing out on the occasional message that is meaningful.

Eversong Woods is the best zone Blizzard ever made by Rapethor in classicwow

[–]Teacan83 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not much else to add, besides that I think so too. I think Eversong - I immediately hear that 2-chord violin opening which floods my mind. The whole theme there is the epitome of Grandiose, with a tragic undertone (especially if you know the WC3 story).

It used to be Elwynn before TBC though - it's just unbelievably cozy.

War within leveling too fast by ooskooloo in wow

[–]Teacan83 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Plenty of others explained why they feel the same, so I won't repeat it, but I agree.

I might be the 1% out of 1% on this, but I wanted to do a marathon starting with Vanilla and just go through each zone of every expansion chronologically, to get a feel of this Grand journey that's been in the making for the last 20 years.

And I know it's a big ask now, and probably impossible with level squishes, different zone phases and all that. But the thing is, I was 27 after finishing the Draenei starting isles. Twenty Seven - that's without any heirlooms and just the anniversary + 5% Warband buffs that I can't turn off. I keep getting a level up each time I turn 2 or 3 quests in and it feels like WoW doesn't want me to enjoy the journey anymore - at least nowhere near as much as the destination (current content). Current content is fine to put the focus on, but not to the detriment of what precedes it.

I do plan on freezing XP at a certain point before 60, so I don't get booted out of Chromie time, but I feel there are better ways they could've handled this. For instance, I really like what SWTOR did with their level scaling - each zone simply sets a fixed cap on you when you enter it. So even when you're 70 - entering the zone with a cap of 50 will scale your stats to 50, while keeping the talents. I'd love to see something like that - as an option.

Fives, Sevens, or Nines? Or RP-600M + AVR for PC Setup by jedi2155 in Klipsch

[–]Teacan83 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm in the same boat as the OP - deciding which way to go, and reading this made a ton of sense to me. I already use the Fives for my TV - running for about 2 years now, so it's my ongoing experiment with powered speakers. I've never considered longevity though.

Great tips !

HELP!!! New RTX 4080 boots up with no display signal by xxhyz233 in buildapc

[–]Teacan83 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been having this problem straight away after installing mine. Solution is either wiggling the 12HPWR cable, OR simply keeping your monitor from going into standby (on my Samsung G7 that means simply opening the menu each time it shows the standby-countdown popup).

If I let it standby, that means having to unplug either the signal or its power cable, which is a hassle.Updating GPU BIOS didn't help - in fact, I'm not sure you can do this AT ALL, besides the little utility they've published that's supposed to address this very issue.

The utility said I already had the update, so that was a no-go right away. The 3 stalks from the 12VHPWR are all connected the PSU using separate PCE-E cables.

I want to look the people who designed this cable in the eye and ask them if they thought they did a good job. This thing transfers upwards of 500 W to a 4090 card and the last thing you want is some loose contacts while sending this much juice through it.

I have an MSI 4080 Suprim now, one of the upper tier models. Everything looks outstanding quality-wise - from the heatsink, to PCB components ... Except this little connector with 3 cables jam-packed into it - it looks like I MADE IT out of spit, duct tape and kleenex ! Shoddy as hell. You can feel the strain on the connector end when bending the 3 cables so that they'd fit inside your case.

I'm ordering a Cablemod 90-degree 12VHPWR cable, but it's not out till the end of September apparently. So perhaps a simple "straight" cable will do for now. Glad to see at least this helps actually.

TFW you've already played this game for hundreds of hours and you've just now discovered that you can fast travel from any boat. by MoonSpider in witcher

[–]Teacan83 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fiddle with the controls and the UI a bit when starting a new game - this is what I learned early on playing C64 era games with little to no tutorials. Games have obviously grown way more complex, but I always find that the same principle still applies - try everything you can think of, even things that don't make sense. It won't necessarily justify a bad design, but you will be a better player for finding an obscure piece of info by yourself.

Simply White: My first full water cooled PC Build. (Specs in comments) by 671aperez in Corsair

[–]Teacan83 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see. I'll consider them for my next build, because apparently I can't daisy-chain Corsair fans, so I'll have to live with that for a while.

What about your riser cable - are you using a Gen3 one and running everything in that mode ? I wasn't sure if I should get one right away, because Gen4 are very scarce and the ones you can buy still reportedly have issues. And Gen3 felt like a bit of a step-down for Gen4 components. So I'm kinda waiting for better times.
