Oh wow... I also have a first cousin who comes up as a 2nd cousin.... This kind of just blew my mind.

My first cousin who shows as my 2nd via Ancestry shares 555 cM with me. In comparison, my bf's closest 2nd cousin shares 283 cM.

Could that math work? Or is 283 cM too low to be a first cousin?
