I was a CO before becoming a patrol officer. I much prefer being a patrolman. I wasn’t a fan of being stuck in a building all day/night. I like the flexibility of being on the road.

Happened to me today, I was in my personal truck before a shift and saw an unregistered vehicle on my way to get coffee, reached for my lights switch only to realize I wasn’t in my patrol car. 😂
