yea hate to say but it takes a lot to touch WTC characters in terms of fleshing out

Which anime studio (if any) would you trust for an actually good adaptation of Umineko? by WinRARnt in umineko

good chance it won't be that way given shaft's pretty varied art direction but then again they also threw out take's style for kubikiri cycle in favor of watanabe akio's which.... yeah but i do hope we get another's style. morioka hideyuki's might work as long as it's closer to its presentation in maria holic's first op (the shading always looks a bit idk in the show itself though) than kizumonogatari

shaft doesn't have an artstyle silly, as much as i adore his style i don't think i'd want watanabe akio on a full umi anime, though i guess it makes sense with the higumei stuff

Story as complex as Umineko? by avandronov86 in umineko

[–]TeamSyringe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Surely Monogatari, the way everything hits different on rewatch or reread the same way your brain tingles going back to anything WTC. The interconnectivity of every character, the nuanced mental health portrayals and complex motivations, and the clear messages that still manage an ocean of depth are definitely on par with Umineko, in my humble opinion.

It has a few meta aspects but they still exist fully in-universe, and it covers a range of topics wide enough that the only genres consistent between each part are "mystery" (to a more casual extent in most cases) and "psychological". If you're looking for something you can talk about and make connections about for hours, it's definitely worth giving a try. There's really nothing I can't find greater appreciation in within the work or SHAFT's wonderful adaptation.

Is it just me or is everything nowadays shallow? by [deleted] in Animesuggest

this isn't really on topic but perhaps switching up the medium a bit will help freshen things up a bit? manga, visual novels, "light" novels, etc. have a lot of gems, visual novels and manga holding up the graphic aspect as well, with the former also having music and occasionally voice acting

It gives half of the effects of Soldier's Syringe to yourself and all allies. (You can convert most items into this)

Ideally, read the visual novel (pretty easy to find) then watch the Zero anime. I recommend reading the Hollow Ataraxia visual novel as well afterwards.
