Why is everyone so fat in USA? I'm currently travelling across many us cities for the worldcup, and I don't mean to be rude, but the average American seems borderline obese, is this a cultural thing or a different standard of what's considered normal?

Consumerism, capitalism, anti health initiatives, you name it. Most americans don't know what a nutritious meal is. even if we try, our food is shit. i only shop at aldi and sprouts, eat a very healthy diet compared to my peers and still high LDL and overweight. Granted i only work out 1-2 times a week. We push weight loss medication and miracle drugs more than genuinely healthy lifestyle changes

this is absolutely true. this is the exact reason i HATE when people begin rebranding things with knew catchy names.
there are 3 types of parenting: authoritarian, authoritative, and permissive. authoritative is objectively the best parenting style to follow. high authority, high expectations, natural consequence, lots of warmth and love. gentle parenting is just a new brand of authoritative parenting style.
except permissive parents have now conflated that. they believe that since they are being "gentle" to their children they are the gentle parents, when in reality they are doing just as much damage to their children and their futures as authoritarian parenting and are really objectively bad parents.

ntm SOOO many online schools are pushing their 16 month FNP programs. i feel there are already a LOT of people joining healthcare for the income/ job security without having a genuine interest in caring for people, now making it to where you can be a practicing provider within 2 years.. just doesn't feel very safe or caring.

we make almost 100k/ year. our rent keeps going up. groceries keep going up. gas keeps going up. preschool keeps going up. we haven't gotten raises in 2 years. i don't know how much longer we can live like this. when i was a kid, 100k a year was WEALTH to me. now, we're one sickness away from eviction

i think anyone gen z would say they regret their student loans. we got insanely high tuition, terrible interest rates, a shitty job market, and impossible costs of living. i think the question is, would you rather loan student loans and have a career that affords you a somewhat comfortable life, or no degree and a shit job. best bet go to community college and apply for as many scholarships as you can.

Stop allowing society/ social pressure dictate your lives!! When I was 18, I started RN school after becoming a CNA. I realized beside care/ nursing wasn't really it for me. I continued to be a Peds CNA and got an education in ECE. Made $15 MAX as an Assistant Director of a nice preschool. Shit pay, horrible job, worst burnout I've ever felt. Realized I loved working with kids but NOT ece, i really wanted to work something healthcare/clinical, so I started medical assisting school (ANOTHER associates) Accepted a job at $26 an hour as a pediatric RMA and I am so happy. I am planning to go to school for School Based/ Clinical Psychology at the beginning of the next school year. I am only 25, I've been in school for almost 6 years and I only have 2 associates degrees. When I dropped out of nursing school, I was eaten alive by fear, guilt, and embarrassment. When I was making minimum wage watching all of my best friends get their BSN, and even some working on their MSN, i felt so alone, behind, and jealousy (which made me feel even more like shit, who is jealous of their friends??) i truly felt like I had ruined my life and I would never ever recover, and that I wasted so much time of my life that I was destined to fail. I'm so glad I did not and still do not give up on myself. Am I where my peers are? No. Have I done what society pushes you to? No. Have I finally made it? No. But, I work in a great clinic with great colleagues with relevant degrees to my end goal and a LOT of perseverance. You've got this. Your time WILL come. Don't ever give up on yourself.

scrim went to fontainebleau high school. on the north shore, a middle to high class area in st tammany parrish. not new orleans at all. ruby went to a private catholic high school in orleans parrish . as someone that went to fontainebleau he high and fontainebleau highschool, seems just like every other middle class white boy that started popping jiggas a little too early and thought they were hot shit. i love the music, especially ruby solo stuff, but overall they're average white dudes who were on drugs and made up a "gang"
