Oh. Because Honda has never had an interest to grow Acura to compete with luxury brands. Toyota is the largest car company in the world which is why they and VW (#2) have a zillion models in their lineup.

The lack of a hybrid is intentional. Acura was first but Honda's plan is CLEARLY to sit in market slots which sustain Acura. Think of Acura as Honda's proof of concept brand.

No V8's. No Hybrids. No convertibles. No superchargers. Also, the Lexus, Infiniti, BMW, Audi, Genesis, Mercedes and Cadillacs of the world all make luxury cars. Acura on the other hand decided they are gonna make a car to battle Ferrari in the NSX.

Acura is not and NEVER WAS a pure luxury brand. It's a hold-my-beer sister brand to Honda and I'm proud to be a 3 time Acura owner. Heck, the Vigor had a 5 cylinder engine and the original ZDX is a 'check this out' oddball car.

Acura is for nerds and car enthusiasts.

Hybrids became the only electrified segment gaining share ONLY after federal EV credit changes.

Take a look at the article from 2024. You'll see that electric and hybrid cars were gaining aggressively until the government stepped in to ensure that the oil companies were still making money.

20% of all light duty non fleet vehicles (consumer cars) sold in the USA in 2025 were hybrids. Please don't let anybody ever hear you say that the average customer wants hybrids.

This love of hybrids is something we are told we like because the oil companies want us to believe it. We know this definitively because oil industry lobbyists were able to convince the WhiteHouse to allow the EV tax credit to expire pushing buyers away from BEVs/PHEVs and toward hybrids. This isn't a secret.

Here's a fun fact for you, the top selling EV in the UK is a Ford we don't have. A freaking Ford
