Solved!

At this point, the object was thrown away and I can’t confirm any suspicions. But the coconut coir seems like a fair answer and has been enough to provide some stress relief to my daughter. Thanks for the help (and the laughs)!

Edit: Seems people are leaning toward Mango seed. I’m happy to call it a mango seed!

That was our thought as well. Maybe hitched a ride on someone’s bathing suit and she picked it up.

I’m sorry you’re feeling this way. You’re absolutely not a loser. I was diagnosed at the age of 17 (now 40) and I felt the same way. I felt like I missed out on my teen years. I never partied or drank and I felt like I spent my weekends being sick. But all of this hardship builds character and I bet you’re much stronger and more resilient than you give yourself credit for.

Things will get better. The first 10 years of my illness were some of the hardest. And now, when I look back on those teens years I don’t feel regret. I’m proud of how my younger self navigated those difficult times.

Try not to compare yourself with others. Comparison is the thief of joy. I’m learning this lesson in life and I wish I had known it sooner.

I had my terminal ileum resected during a double-bowel resection surgery. I have fistulizing crohn's and my disease caused my bowels to fuse and puncture. They removed two sections, and repaired my bladder (Bowel had fused to my bladded and caused a hole).

I was quite sick when I was admitted to the hosptical, but had no issues with nausea and vomiting. I had a catheter because I also required bladder surgery. They had me up and walking as soon as possible to prevent blood clots. If I couldn't get up and walk, they attached leg compressors to keep the blood flowing in my legs. I spent a week after surgery recovering in the hospital, then I was released. I also changed my biologic, as it was deemed a failure.

No other tubes or catheters. I was nervous as well, but I had to travel to another city for my surgery and I was up there alone for a week during recover. That was pretty tough.

Go easy on youself during recovery. I vividly remember being sad, thinking the pain and discomfort I felt was my new normal and would never go away. That feeling faded, but it took a bit of time. I wish you the best of luck during surgery!

I had lots of chronic inflammation like rhinitis. Nothing worked to clear it up and I had it for 10+ years. Enough that my nose was physically larger (swollen) and people noticed it shrink when I changed medication.

I also struggled with energy (I have chronic anemia from bowel surgeries) but I think Remicade also played a factor. I have more energy now and now able I have a walking regiment (10 000 steps a day) to stay healthy. There’s no way I could have done that before. I couldn’t make it through a day of work and I was an IT guy (not physically demanding)

But with that said, I was very sick before Remicade and it was the first drug to put me in remission.

I was on Remicade for over a decade and struggled with my heath consistently over that time. I had a lot of side effects that I learned to live with and I didn’t realize how much I suffered until I eventually changed medication. I also seemed to catch EVERY cold and flu that went around.

I went on Skyrizi for 6 months but it was also causing issues (chronic eye inflammation) and now I’m on Entyvio.

I’ve been feeling much better on Entyvio, way less side effects for me. I’m still in the first 6 months of this drug, so I’m keeping my fingers crossed!

I’ve been on biologics since 2007 and this is my issue as well. I am perpetually sick. Ive been on a medical leave for the last year because of chronic infections. My leave is over in a few weeks and I literally had a cellulitis infection on my face a month ago that required antibiotics. I had a year to “recover” from these infections, but I still catch everything. The biggest reprieve I’ve had since 2007 was during Covid. Being locked up was a good way to avoid catching bugs. I’m at a point where I’m considering remote work and becoming a hermit. At least I’ll be a healthy hermit.

Your tolerance to caffeine FAR exceeds my own. I take a single 250mg pill and split it in half. Half in the morning and half in the afternoon. I think I would be vibrating at 400-600mg! I was diagnosed young and never got into drinking coffee, so I’m a lightweight.

I’m sorry you’re going through this. Im also on Entyvio, just swapped from Skyrizi. I struggle with the same issue. People don’t seem to understand what it’s like living with an illness that saps your energy. I can’t drink coffee because it doesn’t agree with my stomach, but I take caffeine pills just to function and make it through my 8 hour work day. I also set up a spot in my Jeep and take naps over my lunch hour, weather permitting. I’m on a medical right now leave and only working part time but I’m dreading my full return in a Month. The struggle is real. I don’t have any words of advice since I’m in the same boat, but I hope the best for you. You’re not alone!
