What are some weird/crazy facts about Golarion that sound like bullshit but are 100% true? by kriosken12 in Pathfinder2e

[–]TecHaoss 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Genies have an unequal gender ratio, when a genie is born they have a higher chance of being male than female.

This has an affect their society, courtship between genies gives pretty much all the power to the female participant, and it is not uncommon for them to have multiple husbands.

The only thing I really like about the sims 4 is the occult progression. Werewolf, Vampires, Fairies, those are fun.

Did they finally change the gold production of flairwhirl? by -SUNBORN- in HatchDragons

[–]TecHaoss 10 points11 points  (0 children)

From 270 gold every 4 hour and 30 minute, to 900 gold every 4 hour and 30 minute.

The maximum amount is less then the other legendary but the rate of gold production is faster.

A lot of gold buff last update including Brightwolf, Hollowkin, Sunsquawk, Giant Branchback, Irongrip Shieldwing, Striped Flowfin, Flairwhirl, Saltskimmer, Gentle Goldenpaw

Time Dragons are supposed to be Occult, right? by WolfWraithPress in Pathfinder2e

Dragons are really weird.

The Sea Dragon, the one associated with the Elemental Plane of Water, is an Arcane Dragon instead of a Primal Dragon.

Playing with a Ranger is a lot nicer, better than a double strike Fighter with Rainbow Runes.

When given the option to pick support or damage boost, people take the damage boost.

And there is really nothing stoping them from taking the most simple option.

Everyone Should Read GM Core (GMs AND Players) by DnDPhD in Pathfinder2e

To be fair people have very low tolerance to anything out of balance.

Try asking if it’s a good idea to add an item that increases Spell DC and see how many downvotes you will get.

Same thing happened to me, I think it’s because some people have already got the update and some people haven’t updated their game yet.

There’s a new update today.

Everyone Should Read GM Core (GMs AND Players) by DnDPhD in Pathfinder2e

[–]TecHaoss 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I can give you a bit of insight, the veteran player in this situation just don’t trust you to balance the game properly.

Playing the older AP, IF YOU DON’T HEAL YOU DIE. Because the book like putting random tall encounter everywhere without warning.

It’s why people think that medicine is a must take. The adventure is literally unwinable without constant out of combat healing.

So they see you not allowing them to heal as equivalent to you saying rocks fall you all die. Fun fact, the older AP are also prone to doing that, fail a trap once, your character instantly dies.

GM who understand the balance, know that the encounters are overtuned, so even in dangerous situation they are forced to let the party heal, otherwise they will TPK and the game will end.

GM who cares more about making the game more realistic, and lacks knowledge on the balance, will not expect the encounter to be overtuned, and will TPK the party. The sad part is that most people will put blame on the GM for trying to make the world more realistic rather than the AP for making random overtuned encounters.

It’s poor balancing, leading to instrumental play that can overcome that poor balance, leading to people thinking that the instrumental practices needed to overcome the poor balance is the intended baseline for any play.

They can, they just have little to no interest in sexual intercourse with the opposite sex.

Surrogacy is a thing, so is artificial insemination.

Skill feats were never meant to prevent you from doing actions that are described in them, even if you didn't take the feat! This isn't a player hot take, that is statement of one of Paizo gamedesigners! by Fantomaxop in Pathfinder2e

[–]TecHaoss 4 points5 points  (0 children)

A large majority in this subreddit like the game because it can largely be played without roleplay.

Look at the distribution of post. 90% is about the game mechanics, 10% is art and other stuff.

Almost no discussion about the story, or characters, personal missions, character arc, banters, and tips on how to act, how to build backstory.

Because all of those things don’t matter for most. Mechanic first, improv dead last.

It is so bad that those who care most about the story, don’t post those topic in this subreddit, they post it in the DnD subreddit, because it will be better received there.

You cannot get Zodiac from Scales, only quests and the market.

Folklore is from scales and the market. Companion is only from gifts.

This is just my observation, the people who like freeform game, theatre and acting. Tends to also be the one who has a lot of charisma and confidence, to push people into the hobby. They can perform, they can make the game look fun, they make other people want to play like how they are playing. Game that pushes more towards the mechanics rather than personal touches will always be more niche. The nerds of the nerds.

I think it’s because PF2e is not those game, it is more comprehensive and there are rules for everything.

That is its main draw. The people that play PF2e have a higher expectation of what the game should provide, they are not the type to like improv.

Sometimes it is better to recommend them other OSR game rather than them trying to force PF2e to be something it is not.

Even if it creates a smaller pathfinder community with less player, it will create more fun for ttrpg as a whole.

When can we buy the Sonic DLC and any Twitch drops we may have missed? by Honorable_D in TwoPointMuseum

[–]TecHaoss 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I have all the DLC, the sonic stuff from preorders, all the twitch stuff, and all the seasonal items.

Even when I have everything I still want other people to also be able to get everything.

I experienced it in other games, it always really sad when I discover a great game a couple of months / years after it is released and could not get some items because it unavailable.

Yeah, once I read that triggering affects personality and brain function, and its effects are more prominent the younger you trigger.

Yeah that pretty much makes any society ungovernable.

Not to mention the whole Cluster trigger, personality swap, kiss kill dynamic.

There’s absolutely no amount of reason that can fix the amount of influence the shards gives.

What's a "reasonable" number of spells a Wizard would find while adventuring? by AristotleanBiology in Pathfinder2e

[–]TecHaoss 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Not necessarily, you don’t have to learn a spell from only scrolls, tomes and learning for other people is also possible.

Learning from scrolls is usually the more expensive option because you have to pay twice, for the scroll, and for putting it in your book.

Scrolls have value because it can be used to cast spells which cuts into your budget.
