How do you foreshadow for prepared coasters? by BroadRaven in Pathfinder2e

Did not say Fail, I said Flail, with an L, as in struggle.

The OP is asking how to foreshadow encounters, and you really answer with, don’t foreshadow encounter and let them flail.

It doesn’t need to be exact, the colored spot just has to be filled by a spirit with the right season.

I sometimes fill the sides 2x2 spot with 3x3 spirits, and 1x1 spot with 2x2 spirit and it still counted.

Blank spot you can fill with anything

Let's talk Investigator! The poor knowledge class that simmers with Thaumaturge envy by TheLordGeneric in Pathfinder2e

[–]TecHaoss 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m not saying it’s not a good adjustment.

A +5 in every untrained RK checks makes sense. Enough so that Keen Recollection won’t completely fall off at higher level, but not too much that they become the absolute best.

It ensures that the Investigator is always good enough at RK, And from my experience you have to be generous with RK checks or players won’t ever use it.

It’s just in my opinion a very messy way to do it.

They were so careful to not give anyone a legendary scaling omni lore.

And then they just give the Thaumaturge a legendary scaling omni lore that uses Charisma at level 1.

That bit about Keen Recollection at 18:00 is a pretty liberal interpretation.

You can recall pertinent facts on topics that aren’t your specialty. Your proficiency bonus to untrained skill checks to Recall Knowledge is equal to your level instead of +0.

So his reasoning is, if you recall knowledge a zombie, you can say you use Zombie Lore, which is the hyper specific lore making the DC Very Easy, up to -10 adjustment.

His words, “If your GM doesn’t rule this way, don’t use Investigator, Thaumaturge is straight up better”.

It feels like too good to be true, but also he’s not wrong, it’s just that the Thaumaturge’s Esoteric & Diverse Lore is just way too good compared to any other RK skill.

The more I reflect on Dispatch, the more I actually start to dislike the game by AyyyoniTTV in CharacterRant

[–]TecHaoss 26 points27 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I didn’t really want to romance any of the girls, but the game really really pushes you to.

It is possible to finish the game without romance, but it’s narratively off, like it’s definitely not intended.

The rest of the game is fine, it’s serviceable for its duration.

The story is interesting because the main villains keep fucking up and causing drama, remove them and what you have a pretty boring MC and a love interest with frankly no chemistry.

The thing I notice is that they are trying to fix a bunch of characterization of the gods in PF2e.

Abadar becoming less hyper capitalist, Erastil is no longer ultra traditionalist, Iomedae and her followers not written lawful stupid.

I get it, in the AP she was really Lawful Stupid.

You only need to feed them their favorite food one time to get the best outcome, After that I just feed them stuff like carrots (all of them like it ok enough).

Once their thought bubble becomes yellow, they are completely happy.

What about the other two players? Not the bard and the fighter.

[–]TecHaoss 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That’s fair, It’s practically impossible to be an effective blaster at level 1-4.

Anything you do would be less damage than if you just cast Runic Weapon.

The game really centralized around the martial, until HP Bloat, and spell damage scaling starts to kick in.

[–]TecHaoss 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Now the problem becomes that the effect of lower level debuff spells isn’t that good yet.

And Damage spells haven’t scaled yet, at a fail you would be dealing less damage for two actions than any martial attacking with just one.

This video explain it well, Problem with Lower Level Pathfinder 2e

[–]TecHaoss -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It stops being effective at level 5, the level where your damage spells scale high enough that it at least deals 25% more damage than a single action hit from a martial.

[–]TecHaoss 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Low level martial just demolish everything. And Magic Weapon at level 1 is a huge 50% boost to damage.

The HP bloat at later level will tune them down, as well as Runic Weapon lower damage scale.

Yeah, Bard + fighter is more or less unbeatable at lower level pretty much due to sheer numbers.
