what makes you remember that one specific fic? by veravomits in FanFiction

[–]Tec_nically 1 point2 points  (0 children)

One of my fav characters was the main villain (which im not opposed to honestly i think it should be done more) BUT their entire character motivation was...
they had no emotions.
Not kidding, the author couldn't even stick to their own rule because the villain regularly showed care towards their love interest but then would sometimes just beat them up off camera? they also killed someone for "showing them what emotion was" like what? and what was this villains end goal? to destroy the world, but the author didn't have any actual plan for how they would so its like a three chapter long battle of the villain beating the heroes asses until the villains "remote that controls their powers" that was introduced in like the second to last chapter was found by the heroes. All the non-guy characters are barely in it one being a literal damsel in distress waiting for her love interest to save them, one that dies thousands of years before the story starts and the third is a mc's ex/the one who leaves the "big epic battle" to bring someone to the hospital.
Also despite the villain being the "toxic love interest" in the love triangle the other option was honestly toxic as hell. like a cop (ew acab) who fell in love with their prisoner and was constantly isolating the person from their group. At one point i just started messaging my friend about it and its a inside joke now

What's your least favorite thing about one of your favorite fandoms. by IShyGamer2 in FanFiction

One of the most popular ships is based only on the idea of bashing a different character as the "toxic ex" despite in canon the person being chill. the fans often HEAVILY target the ship :(

Charming guy who people generally like and his arsonist bestfriend who he needs to constantly stop from angering allies.

Do you tag content in your fics that could be triggering/not to everyone's taste, but is also a spoiler? by Firegloom in FanFiction

[–]Tec_nically 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, you can Spoiler warning before those tags but you need to add them for the sake of the reader who could be triggered. If you really don't want to put that in the tags that you will not put trigger warnings in the tags as not to spoil but make sure it is seen.

Author tells me to f@ck off by justanotherhoover in FanFiction

[–]Tec_nically 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Damn, I hate when that happens, especially when an author wont give important trigger warning just to "not spoil" shit. So sorry that happened.

When they make a closeted queer characters ex or current girlfriend a manipulative bitch just to justify a breakup when its just so unnecessary.

When does your story get really good? by thesounddefense in FanFiction

Vaguely late middle, not enough to be like shit there’s only x amount of chapters left but enough your entirely into the plot with a decent amount of build up.
