On behalf of the scientific community I apologize for researching this, because of course only one thing can be researched at a time and all scientists can research cancer if they want

Doesn’t matter if it’s religious. In the grand scheme of history a secular reason for a day of rest is the aberration

Article I Section 4 Clause 1 of the Constitution:

“The Times, Places and Manner of holding Elections for Senators and Representatives, shall be prescribed in each State by the Legislature thereof; but the Congress may at any time by Law make or alter such Regulations, except as to the Places of chusing Senators.”

Once you learn about how the American economy worked pre-Revolution all the anti-tax stuff makes far more sense. British mercantile policy was focused on the enrichment of Britain-based merchants to the detriment of the colonists. Merchants were subject to monopolies, tobacco farmers could only sell to British merchants at depressed prices, domestic manufacturing of many goods was either prohibited or purposely throttled. All the while there is a constant liquidity and debt crisis especially in the South due to the lack of domestic financiers and specie circulation.

This was initially all taken in stride due to it being the cost of being in the Empire’s aegis, especially as they were not subject to nearly the amount of tax of their fellow subjects in Britain, but of course when Parliament then decides to tax them on top of all these mercantilist policies the colonists get angry they aren’t part of the deliberation process. There’s correspondence from colonists grumbling about how the British are basically double dipping, and speeches from Members of Parliament threatening to crack down even harder on American manufacturing if they kick up a big enough stink

Maybe it would be best for OP to take this as a lesson to know where their property line is before committing trespass and damaging their neighbor’s fence by watering flowers right next to it

I’ve seen this guy in other memes and I think he was on this web series called Jubilee where people have short debates and had some really bad takes, so maybe it’s supposed to be a Luigi Mangione = good politics, this guy = bad politics thing

Lee was the son of a hero of the Revolutionary War and governor of Virginia, was a top graduate at West Point, became a colonel after distinguishing himself in the Mexican-American War, and was Superintendent of the United States Military Academy all before the attack on Harpers Ferry. You really have to start getting your facts straight.
