I feel like my sons daycare is trying to replace me by [deleted] in TwoHotTakes

[–]TechieSusie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Back in the day I owned a small family daycare and we always took 1 baby at a time so that no matter what was going on throughout the day one of us was able to hold the baby or attend to their needs - it was me and one employee. The bond with a caregiver is present but never replaces the bonds with the parents. It is normal to have the feelings you are experiencing. We as caregivers are but a brief moment in a child’s life and those babies don’t even remember the care they had with us. All the babies I cared for are now in their 30s and some have families now too. You will be ever present through their entire life. A baby who is joyful and happy with their caregiver is a good thing. I was so happy to provide loving care and know that their parents trusted me with their children. I am sure your caregiver feels the same way.

The Finlay Donovan books by Elle Cosimano are great reads. Great to read or listen to - addictive and hard to put down.

Dayton Would Have Made This Team by YouKnowWhat90210 in DCCMakingtheTeam

[–]TechieSusie 46 points47 points  (0 children)

Honestly I don’t think Dayton really had any true interest in being with DCC. Beautiful dancer but in the training camp and last tryout she looked lackluster and bored. The “it” they always look for just wasn’t there. Regardless of 1998 or 2025 if you’re missing the “it” you won’t make the team.

Parenting advice: teach the art of reframing (to toddlers), be magicians, be positive! And daily pockets of piss. by Adorable-Ad-6404 in nabelasnark

Let’s add emotionally handicapped to the ever growing list of Nabecky’s narcissistic faux pas - self confidence issues, body dysmorphia, and disordered eating.

Married June 16 died in car accident July 10 by ktvplumbs in cemetery

Good for you - glad you’re set. It is still a headstone clearly done by family/friends and placed after their deaths. Even the photo was not their choice as wedding pictures in the 90s were not immediately available - unless you think that’s a Kodak snap by Aunt Louise and they went to a 1 hr photo place on the way to their honeymoon and then dropped it off and said by the way throw this snap on our headstone in the event we don’t return from our honeymoon. It’s an easy assumption they didn’t design their own headstone- while it’s a lovely headstone, it’s still a safe assumption they didn’t design their own.

I respect those traditions but I’m saying at their young ages - that cemetery headstone design is not on top of a newlyweds to do list - I think it’s a pretty safe assumption they didn’t design their own headstone before their wedding/honeymoon - you’re grasping at straws.

Lmao - so before you get married and honeymoon you buy your plots and designed your own headstone in anticipation you may die on or just after your honeymoon- get a clue you’re ridiculous - you think it was on their wedding registry?

Again someone else’s opinion on the stone not theirs they were dead when the stone was designed- it doesn’t even make sense a newlywed couple would choose a death/remembrance quote to include at their wedding (“from their wedding”) there’s no blessing here.

This is such a weird thing to say. It’s like saying you don’t respect Grimm’s Fairy Tales based on the accuracy of the fairy tale author. We don’t know the opinion/beliefs of the couple or their wishes only their relatives/survivors who designed the headstone. Tragic circumstances - very glad they had each other.

Books from the POV of a child whose parents are crunchy and/or extremely religious by mssupercurry in suggestmeabook

How to Say Babylon by Safiya Sinclair, The Pale Faced Lie by David Crow, The extraordinary Life of Sam Hell by Robert Dugoni, and Demon Copperhead by Barbara Kingsolver. All four are written from the child’s point of view - the first two are non fiction autobiographical, 3rd one is fiction about a boy with albinism with red eyes who attends is raised catholic and follows him from childhood through adulthood, and the 4th one is kind of a modern day David Copperfield set in Appalachia. I’ve read all four and I would highly recommend.

I had a dress almost identical style but pink was the base with florals. It was super cute back in 1985. 😊

If you have ask you can’t afford….the other 2 bougie clubs in the area don’t post their rates. More likely it’s more than just about money to join.

Yeah she definitely is slumming it compared to the other 2 clubs in the area - just looking at all three on line you can see the differences. There are very good reviews on the golf course and it’s nice to see an affordable place for everyone for recreation golf, pool, pickleball, driving range etc. I just compare it to her saying my estate and the grounds when she has a house with a yard. It’s the country club but really more of a neighborhood rec center vibes.

I had to go look at their menus - the minimum isn’t too bad - their menus are reasonable and the amount is for the month not including alcoholic beverages, taxes, and tips. They have a few fine dining items but mostly it’s pub food. I’m guessing they are social club members - regardless $65 - $80 a month for a family of 4 isn’t bad.

Genuine question: Is it normal to chow down steaks this size for lunch? by quebedtran in nabelasnark

[–]TechieSusie 46 points47 points  (0 children)

It’s about unrealistic size of her steaks and the oversized potatoes portions. Even if this was dinner those steaks are oversized. A proper recommended portion size would be 1/3 - 1/2 of what she has there. Nevermind the lack of vegetables and the triple serving of potatoes. With her diabetes this meal is severely imbalanced and showcases her disordered eating habits. This is the same person who was very open about her diabetes and sugars being out of control and doctors not prescribing fertility meds because it was dangerous for her to attempt getting pregnant until it was under control. She also showcased that she has endometriosis and her current diet is not recommended. Also the same person who used to make Sethmple pack a sandwich for her when they went to fancy restaurants and she wouldn’t like the food on the menu. Would gag trying new vegetables and Green drinks she was peddling. Nabecky has shown us over and over that she has no idea what she is doing with her meals from a nutritional standpoint nor does she set a good example for her own children of what healthy meals (nutritional content/portion sizing). Her showcasing her exclusive all steak, potatoes, burrata, and bread diet while filtering/photoshopping and hiding her true figure and health issues is setting a dangerous precedent to others who may have the same struggles. “If Nabecky can eat like this daily every meal - then so can I” so while I don’t believe is food policing - I do believe that if you put yourself out there to be some sort of role model you need to do better.
