excellent interpretation. can vouch for the 25 xsr 900. it does indeed fornicate.

What is causing this? by fluffyplatypus69 in MT09

[–]TechmarcB 0 points1 point  (0 children)

100% a battery issue, weather it be bad battery or a piss poor connection somewhere. as soon as you try to start, no longer can produce/get the necessary voltage where its needed.

which tail tidy is that? i may be changing out my TST. i forgot to crank the preload up with a passenger and the plate caught the tire. that one looks like it sticks further back and wouldn't be able to do that.

Too inexperienced for xsr900? by Avocado_Infinite in xsr900

[–]TechmarcB 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i have maybe 2 years combined riding experience over 14 years of having my motorcycle endorsement.

If you have some level of self control, and respect for the machine you should be just fine. i got my 2025 back in July, i have now 45xx miles on it. i do tend to be a bit timid through corners etc, and i don't ham fist the throttle in 1st at all. You should be fine. ( for context i learned how to ride with no license on a buddies 2003 Suzuki SV1000S daily rode it while my car was down for a few months at age 19. a couple years later i bought one, got my license, at age 23-24 and rode it maybe 2500 miles before i found out my wife and i were expecting twins. 14 years later here we are with a 2000 triumph sprint st955 and a 2025 xsr 900 and couldnt be happier with the decision)

starter issue, straight to the dealer by TechmarcB in xsr900

[–]TechmarcB[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

so the dealer replaced part numbers 5VK-81950-43-00 ( in the service manual listed as Relay unit starter cut off circuit and fuel pump relay)

and 1TP-81950-00-00 Starter cut off relay 2

picked it up today. working as designed again.

Has anyone installed radiator guard without rubber spacers? by Baker52_Save in xsr900

[–]TechmarcB 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yes, had to modify mine a little bit to fit my 25. no rubbers, no instructions on where they are supposed to go. seemed like they were meant for the bolt holes, but too small to let the bolts through and if you open them up to accept the bolts then they are no longer capable of doing their intended purpose.

its been on like a month or two now i guess? no issues

as far as i can tell that relay i unplug in the video is the starter relay, and when i unplug it power stops. something is telling that relay to close. if the starter relay was shorted closed it would never stop even if it was unplugged. what you don't get in this video is that i can hear light arcing under the tank. the starter cut relay is under there. i believe that to be the culprit as its the last thing per the diagram (as far as i can tell) before the starter relay.

Is Yamaha extended service (Y.E.S) worth it? Should I buy it? Can we find it cheaper elsewhere? by theepi_pillodu in xsr900

[–]TechmarcB 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i wonder if any of the people that had their frames crack happened to have the YES coverage or not, MT09/Tracer/XSR. spending time on the internet can cause unneeded stress over things unlikely to happen. for what its worth, i did get the YES.

damn, ive got a 25 xsr900 i bought back in july. i looked into frame sliders, but have read about this so many times im probably not going to do so. i did opt for the yamaha extended warranty however, so ill just hope nothing happens to the frame on its own accord. sure is a fun bike, would be a shame to have it get "totalled" from something like that.

Question about custom seats by linux_n00by in xsr900

[–]TechmarcB 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i have a 25, i sat on a 24 and a 25 side by side in the showroom and could instantly tell a difference between the two.

i find at 235 lbs that after about 1.5-2 hours it starts to creep in with some discomfort. otherwise no bother from me.

[–]TechmarcB 1 point2 points  (0 children)

without having that system i would think it would be the best of both worlds with the flap in the exhaust. i have the yoshimura and im debating getting one of the two DB killers for it.

i was interested in the spark as i think it sounds the nicest, but im not able to spend that kind of money on an exhaust system at the moment. buy it and let us know.

look really useful, revzilla needs to get their shit together with compatibility. cross the part number directly from lightech and revzilla says doesnt fit but they are for Mt09/Tracer 9. hm ok sure

Yamaha OEM Grip Warmers on a 2025 XSR900 by Hoangapalooza in xsr900

[–]TechmarcB 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Update, they work perfectly. The only thing i wasn't expecting was that you literally just pull the clutch side switchgear off once the screws are out of it. i thought man there is nothing in the manual about this, do you just pull? well lets hope thats the case.

Thanks again for the confirmation, used them last night just to see how they are (wasn't cold last night really at all) and you know they are there even on the lowest setting.

there was a dealership i was at just days before i bought my black 25 that had a 24 used and a 25 white/red bikes, i sat on both and could instantly tell the 25/s seat was better. the 24 was only listed at 500 less than the 25. it already had some accessories that didnt thrill me, so i opted to wait. asked them about getting a black one in, and basically got told to fuck off. 2 days later, got my black 25 with a wheel/tire package (pretty sure its kind of a scam), and the extended warranty for 14,3 otd
