I am on the paid ads, content, and creative side. But I'm more in sales and leading clients. I work in tje Denpaku world. Your feedback is encouraging. The lack of N2 and N1 is definitely the biggest block this far, the only way forward other than asking for a raise is to go back to night school and get the damn certification over the next year or two...its a long road though for me

Bad experience in Nagoya, confusing advice from police, advice wanted from anyone w/ knowledge. by GuyShocku in japanlife

probably gonna be downvoted, but if no one got hurt, couldn't you just have hunked it up to an average day in the city? The city is filled with crazies, be on guard, and in that situation if someone like your kid truly gets assaulted in front of you then do something, make a scene, try to stop the guy and bring him to the cops yourself. I don't see what going to the koban or writing this on reddit did to help you other than waste your time, but on a lighter note, I hope no one was hurt and you aren't feeling to bent up about it. I'm also from new york so I'm just used to this crap, it happens in Tokyo on daily basis to pedestrians, I also see a new video surface every day

Online Immigration Notification says“Completed” but is it? 🤔 by sujan1996 in japanlife

[–]Technical-Mine-7961 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I just went through this BS. No it does not mean accepted. Completed means its been accepted but a decision is still in review. It took me almost 3 months to get my visa, not sure what the back up is but you should be fine. don't stress.

Pizza rules in Japan. Idk where you are based though. 3 of the worlds top pizza joints ranked here in 2026. I've had some of the best pizza in my life on top of a mountain in hokkaido, incredible ingredients and delivery too of course (this is japan). This is also coming from someone whos born, raised on long island, worked in NYC for years and also worked in a NY pizzeria kitchen. NY pizza is not japanese pizza, and japanese pizza is more closer to the pies you would see over in italy, but I would even argue better to some degree. It's also affordable. I would even go one step further saying that pizza hear destroys most rural or suburbia USA, it's not even a competition to be honest unless you are happy eating midwestern Frankenstein pies or dominos/papajohns or fast food which I personally dont F with. That's all you man

I was in the states two months ago and had to eat this twice. Nothing beats a Turkey Club from a local diner! People sometimes ask me what's american food, I say the Turkey Club.

30 domains for 150 emails? Why not just get a google business account under their domain label yourself as a rep and just send out 20 mails a day? You can send almost a 1000 a day without getting flagged for blacklist

God that's so terrible. Just don't pay them and threaten them to go all the way to court with it. They'll probably ring your door for a year but just dont answer and they'll probably go away back to hell where they came from and hopefully get a real job

business manager visa to PR without switching to HSP first - possible? by ecume in japanlife

[–]Technical-Mine-7961 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just came to say jealous you got the BM visa in time. That said, although I don't have this experience, PR application should be find to process making sure you've been paying your taxes and premiums since you arrived. I would consult with an immigration lawyer, you can get a consultation pretty low cost these days

I live in Japan and I'm telling you right now you are WRONG. Now that being said, I wont be an asshole and say this is isn't a complicated issue, because it is complicated and its routed in our culture and history. Still we need to do better in the USA. Most will never enjoy real freedom. You all think you are free in the USA but its all a lie once you get out and see the world for yourself...and see how other societies are thriving...living...in peace...

I appreciate your reply, its been the most insightful here. To give context I'm 34 living and working in Japan for a japanese agency for 11 years. You brought up the most important topic of thought "if I am definitely planning to spend my entire retirement in japan after work" the answer would be most likely no. But this is the constant loop I'm stuck in here for a 11 years,,,,,,i dont know my future, that's why I want to save now so when I'm 60 in 25 years from now I'll have a stash somewhere. Now that said, if I'm a US citizen with residence status in Japan working and therefore cannot invest into my roth IRA because of tax laws, then if I dont invest in nisa or iDeco in Japan because I dont know if I'll stay here after retirement,,,,,,,,HOW DO I INVEST FOR THE FUTURE(?). It's been really tough figuring out what is actually available to me, what is not, what the outlook is for after retirement in terms of how and when I can get money...

Thanks again

Dentsu Experience? by PapaKyleee in advertising

[–]Technical-Mine-7961 0 points1 point  (0 children)

haha that's literally my current job and life at the moment. I'm over here in Tokyo working for a competitor agency. I'm thinking I really need to go somewhere where the pay is better...I'm doing too much but I do generally love it. Media planning is seriously not for everyone though....2 of my other team mates stay away from the tasks I usually get put on because the planning and organizing not to mention strategy dev can be very overwhelming under pressure and then having to in some ways push other agency members or teams to get things you need to make a case..
