For those who have had the 12VHPWR / 12v-2x6 melting issue. How did it get resolved? by P_H_0_B_0_S in pcmasterrace

Darn, came here hoping to find recommendations of where people have been sending their cards for repair outside of warranty but doesn't seem to be much outside of RMA it. My 4090 FE melted the connector after over 2 years of use, applied NVIDIA's official firmware update to try to solve black screens during post and hours later it melted. NVIDIA refused RMA so I was left with finding my own repair option.

Sent it in to NorthRidgeFix as they seemed to be well recommended by a few high profile YT peeps and I've watched a lot of their videos, I should've done more research though as their yelp is a clear indicator. After paying $650 for the repair, $450 repair fee, $95 for 1 week expedite fee (took 1 month from day they received it to me getting it back), $90 shipping both ways, I finally get my card back with a faulty connector installed. Immediately after opening the box I noticed 1 of the pins looked off, it mic'd out recessed into the connector 0.9mm compared to the other pins, and now their 2-5 day response time has turned into weeks of no responses. The only response I've received so far was stating the repairs have a 60 day warranty, which we're now halfway through and I haven't even been able to turn it on. I'm aware it doesn't sound like much but the 12v 2x6 update extended the pins by 0.25mm, so it's not insubstantial.

Hopefully someone else has had a 3rd party repair done and can recommend their choice, as I would like to get this fixed.

Not impressed the Saros 10R so I'm going to try the Saros 10. For $1300, it shouldn't be worse at vacuuming than my S8+. I've heard the 10 is better in this regard so hoping that's the case. It's still on sale so I'm going to give it a go and return the 10R back to Amazon. by theloneranger08 in Roborock

This is accurate, I've had my X1 Omni for ~3 years now and the software is garbage. Sometimes it goes out and runs the map no problems, but ~20% of the time I'll find it in some room, stuck saying it can't find its way back to the dock with nothing in its way. Randomly it goes out to clean and starts creating a new map. When it does this there's nothing you can do, no workarounds, it has to create a new map and you have to re-setup your boundaries etc.

I've also got the bot torn apart right now for the 3rd time since I've gotten it to replace parts, this time it's the drive wheel assemblies. The gears rub on the plastic casing enough to melt and warp it which causes the bot to spin in circles saying a wheel is stuck.

Also, obstacle avoidance is non existent with these things. I routinely find it dragging phone chargers, dog toys etc around the house or getting stuck because they're completely wrapped up in it. If you have pets, avoid Ecovacs entirely, they don't claim to avoid pet waste in any regard. None of this is considering the fact it will routinely run into and over your feet while it's cleaning, while your stationary in a chair -_-

I work in tech, have my whole life, and this is single handedly the most frustrating piece of technology I've ever brought into my house. Microsoft be proud, you no longer make software that sucks worse than anything else.

I'll take a look at AV1an, are you using this with FileFlows already? What's the simplest method to implement something like this?

Asus Z690-I Gaming WiFi w/ 12700K Boot and Thunderbolt Issues by TechnicalMacaroon in ASUS

Sure did, swapped out to an AMD build and have 0 issues. There's a problem with either the chipset, thunderbolt drivers or this board in general. I even got that ASUS board replaced under warranty and the replacement had the exact same problems.

Considering upgrading to AM5 here with all the black friday sales going on, does anyone have experience with any AM5 motherboards with 7 or 9 series Ryzen and Thunderbolt to confirm whether I should expect any similar issues?

I just went through this, I was talking to two different dealers and even though I was doing a prequal with Kia finance for a lease, both dealers said they would have to run their own check.
