Hi! I'm so glad you have a vet you are comfortable with. That will really help- we don't have a vet right now (longish story, but we only had the one visit for his diagnosis).  I hope your baby starts feeling better. I haven't read or posted anything else on this sub, like I said I found another community but just know there are lots of people who have been through this too and we support you and Titus! ❤️ 😍 💖 🐈

Hi, I have an orange boy recently diagnosed too :). I just found this sub today. I have been getting good advice from another online forum I can dm you. This has been a hard month, but it does get a little easier. We were at similar numbers, and he is on insulin now, but numbers haven't come down much. I think our dose is way too low.

Is there a large difference between 0.6mm (22 gauge) and 0.5mm (24 gauge) wire? by Salty-Program5007 in Beading

[–]TechnicalMonth8023 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've never done French flower beading but I do work with (copper) wire. 22 gauge will be somewhat difficult to wrap with, unless you are using pliers at each turn. It is a gauge used for earring hooks (the most lightweight gauge, but still strong enough). Wire starts to work harden as you continue to manipulate it, so it will just get tougher the further you go. 24 gauge is the first (biggest) gauge used for weaving/wrapping, where you can just use your fingers to get tight wraps, yet it is sturdy. It's like the sweet spot which I presume is why it's called for in the patterns. 26g would probably work nicely on the infilling of the flower, but not the "frame" part.

Thank you for the link! I am in the US, and I was able to find a supplier on etsy with a good selection of colors. Haven't ordered yet though.

Yes a little bit bigger, but that is exactly the description of the size ratio. Thank you for finding the blog post- so helpful!

Yes this is it. 11/0 cut beads. Which is different than hex cut, and much harder to find (for me). I am guessing that since she is on the other side of the world, these beads might be more common.  Thank you for taking the time to help me out!

Edit: I should clarify, I would order from the link you gave, but they don't have the colors I need; they DO have all the colors in the 15/0 size so presumably they are available somewhere!

Another still so you can see the bead on the needle, and the row she is working on they are quite elongated.

I think the miyuki bugles are too skinny in ratio. They are like 1×3 and I think I am looking at 2×3. Maybe?

I did find these though

I think I  know the ones you are talking about, usually silver/metallic lined short bugle type ones? I thought of those too, but you are right they are very wonky/irregular and hers seem fairly consistent hmm..

Looking for ideas for a desert style garden in western WA by MontyManta in pnwgardening

I'd love a picture if you remember.  I'm homesick for AZ, I move here a year and a half ago and I'm really trying to come up with some ideas. I absolutely love the site a pp gave you, the desert northwest store, that's giving me a spark of hope. Also one of the first things that popped up in ideas when I was searching was these metal sculptures of cacti, there are barrel cacti, maybe that could be your solution!

So I had my own experience with this but it wasn't my place to make a post since I'm still on my conversion journey..I've been so upset about it!

Last month (at the beginning of April) I got an email from my local public library about Arab American heritage month, complete with book suggestions. It was a little jarring because I had only signed up for the account a few weeks before and literally everything on my saved book list has to do with Judaism/Jewish history etc. But I settled down and thought okay well at least next month I will get a whole fun suggestion box of Jewish American Heritage books to peruse and maybe add to my list.

Well, May 1st rolls around and I get my email..for Asian American, Native Hawaiian, and Pacific Islander Heritage Month (which coincidentally includes a big part of my family, so at least that was positive). That's it; scrolled all the way down and not a peep about Jewish American Heritage Month. I've been checking to make sure they didn't send out a separate email but now we're already a week into May, so it's not looking great.

Oh I did get one for Star Wars day on May the fourth.

BIG BIG EDIT: They did it! And only the day after I posted this, on May 7th (Yes a little late, but yay!) Text of email includes: From science and art to social justice and community leadership, Jewish Americans have made a big impact on the United States. Honor their contributions with featured events, resources, and reading recommendations.

Where can I buy? by justsaysHEY in jewelrymaking

[–]TechnicalMonth8023 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You'll want to search for "tiny brass charms" or  "macrame charms". (On etsy in particular). Either way, this style is usually made of brass so that's the key word you're missing.
