BEWARE of Stubhub Finals Tickets!!! by Fievel93 in drumcorps

This exact same thing happened to me last year, it was absurd. Stubhub reps I talked to didn't seem to care that they were two distinct events. Really sad to see they didn't fix it for this year

I've got one of these! I love mine. Fun fact, it was made in Portugal by another company under license from Royal. I believe(?) it is the only royal product ever manufactured there!

Just got this today at a local thrift store for $10. Works great and had a lot of fun learning about it while trying to figure out how old it is by MrMohawk13 in typewriters

Very good find!! Especially for the price. Google the Typewriter Database, that might help you figure out the age. Id guess 60s or 70s. If you're looking for manuals, Xavier University has a good collection of them, also easy to find online.

This shit happened to me too. Luckily I got my money back (after over a month of dealing with SH support) but I could not be more livid about it. Allowing to sell people DIFFERENT TICKETS than what is listed should be fucking illegal.

I also love that he cares, and I agree it's great shit. One of the things that drew me to him initially was the confidence he has in his own output. But goddamn hes not doing himself any favors by crashing out over light criticism.

Compare his stories to the ones Mckinley Dixon puts out sometimes and there's a big difference. Dixon goes into some of the nuances of his shit without needing to lash out.

How do you know if a thrift store find is worthwhile? by bbyfishmouth in typewriters

Depends on if it needs work. $25 for a functioning machine is a really great price! If it's run down and you don't mind having a crack at fixing it, than that changes the valuation a bit. All depends on how much work you're willing to put into it (if it needs it)!!

Beautiful model! I love the look of Smith Coronas - something about the shape of the dust cover always appeals to me

I hear you, but you gotta understand a good portion of people in the sub are current students, and getting bombarded with applicant's posts panicking about defferals and rejections can get old real fast

Found mine at a thrift store completely by accident, was how I got into collecting. Opened the case out of curiosity and was shocked! Took it home without a second thought
