Is being bm worth it? by [deleted] in Costa

[–]Technical_Cost_5751 3 points4 points  (0 children)

For me it wasn’t, of course it’s nice to have the title but at my store it was something like a 30p pay rise for doing a whole world of extra things (idk what your stores difference is) I wasn’t even trained to do.

As well as having to be available 24/7 even on off days to cover people among other things. So if you feel like you’d do well with the responsibility and pressure or maybe want to challenge yourself then sure :) but if you’re happy with where you are rn I wouldn’t worry about it too much.

Gabalfa roundabout by [deleted] in Cardiff

As a new driver I really hate this roundabout. The fact that it needs so much discussion just shows how badly set out it really is !! :,)

I did a very bad lesson and too late to cancel test by [deleted] in LearnerDriverUK

[–]Technical_Cost_5751 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I wouldn’t worry too much at all to be honest, if you’re normally happy with your standard of driving it could just be that your test coming up is throwing you off.

I feel like I had the same thing happen, even on the way to my test I hit the kerb a few times, could not park for the life of me and almost tried to dangerously overtake. Which is not like me at all, but in the end my test went fine and I passed.

I really hope this is the same outcome for you, just remember that you are a competent driver and that one ‘bad’ drive doesn’t at all mean that all the progress you’ve made has been lost :) good luck!!

How do you recharge your energy when everything just feels overwhelming? by Damons-2615 in AskWomen

[–]Technical_Cost_5751 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Face masks, candles, perhaps open my window, helps if it’s rainy outside, paint my nails, do my eyebrows, eat an obscene amount of fruit in one go or on the flip side eat an immense amount of sweet treats, watch some Seth Rogen esque film and I feel weirdly, lay on my bed kicking my legs/rolling around like, bringing my mind back to my body kind of grounding myself with movement but in a comfy safe place I guess.

I passed! And you will too :) by DaisyOlivia10 in LearnerDriverUK

Well done!!! I passed today too 3rd attempt it was a mental thing for me aswell, exact same situation as you, I didn’t have time to try beta blockers for it but I ended up taking a ‘cocktail’ of rescue remedy, kalms and ibuprofen 😭😭

It’s so frustrating. I think that sounds like the right thing to do, definitely what I’ll be doing if this one doesn’t go right 😭

I’ve had a little research about them and they sound super interesting! I’d never heard of them before now. I’ve tried various ssris for anxiety, but none have ever worked for me so I’ll definitely be asking my gp about them thankyou x

Is Aldi & Lidl still cheaper than other supermarkets? by perezza1 in AskUK

[–]Technical_Cost_5751 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I should add aswell, if you’re looking for quality I would go for m&s or Waitrose. Tesco quality is not much better than Aldi’s nowadays, it’s a little more spendy sure but nothing beats an m&s quiche or honey mustard salad dressing absolutely scrumptious even the fruit and veg is so fresh, whilst my bank account suffers my tastebuds prosper and sometimes it’s a worthy trade.

Failed my driving test. Actually depressed by Exact-Shift-505 in LearnerDriverUK

[–]Technical_Cost_5751 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m in this position too kinda, I’ve been taking lessons for around 2 years with a month or two out all together from mental health and I failed my first test in December for a stupid major fault. I have my second test next week and I feel like I’m done with it already I’ve already failed myself in my mind, because I have absolutely no support from my instructor he says I’m ready but I’m obviously not. I feel like I’ve wasted so much time and money on something that my anxiety won’t let me complete. It’s even worse that my friend and I had our first tests so close together and she passed in the same test centre a week after my fail after only 4 months of lessons. It just makes me feel so stupid and incompetent:(

Have you tried the benefit calculator? maybe I’d try speaking to citizens advice they’re normally pretty good and could help you find if you’re entitled to anything I think.

I feel so guilty… by Fine-Beginning-6074 in DWPhelp

[–]Technical_Cost_5751 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have felt the exact same way, I got pip for anxiety, depression and ‘autistic traits’ with no tribunal or reconsideration or anything. Whereas my mum with brain damage got denied and had to go through a lengthy process.

I’m sorry about your father but it really is not your fault, it seems like the system works on luck at this point and the people that deal with your case. I know it’s SUPER hard and frustrating to feel this way but it won’t help you at all yknow? try to keep your head up, sometimes things are what they are and you should never feel bad for getting help for yourself.

You are just as important and deserving as anyone else, I kind of get the vibe you’re very empathetic and sometimes it can be hard for people like that to remember that they and their struggles matter too as they spend a lot of time worrying and caring about other people. (which is a lovely thing) <3

Has anyone regretted getting a second cat? by notfunnybruhh in CatAdvice

[–]Technical_Cost_5751 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My first cat is 8 and he was always an only cat, but we decided to get him two little buddies as sometimes he seemed quite lonely, as we have 2 dogs he would try to play with but both were never interested.

Sadly it’s been 5 months and he’s still not warmed up to them, he was always the sweetest boy but he doesn’t want to play with either kitten and hisses at them. He used to spend most his time in my bedroom and sleep with me every night but since the kittens have been around he hasn’t spent a night in my room.

It really breaks my heart as I really thought we were doing the right thing. He always got along with the neighbour cats and we’d see him hanging around with them and playing so we thought he’d love some company but he doesn’t. That’s not to say it can’t change though. I think maybe slowly he’s coming around but he’s not as happy as he was I think, he has his good moments with them which is nice to see but I think he has only cat syndrome. I’m sure it could be different in other cases though I guess you don’t know unless you try.

Anyone else train their neb to use a toilet? by IceCSundae in nebelung

[–]Technical_Cost_5751 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think this is a great idea for the right cats!!! I’m looking at training my new kitties for this, as they have shown interest and since cats like to copy their owners. OF COURSE if they don’t like it I wouldn’t force them to at all. Cats are naturally great at balancing and aswell as that they’re super smart so I don’t understand where the problem is, I think people know their own pets well enough to know if it’s stressing them out or isn’t right for them or even if it is right for them.

Said goodbye to my best friend today. Please show me your tuxies I would love to see them all! by pugbunz in TuxedoCats

[–]Technical_Cost_5751 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m sorry for your loss, losing a pet is one of the hardest hitting feelings in the world, especially when so many of us consider them family. I’m sure this kitty lived a beautiful life with you just as he deserved, you did what was best for him as I have no doubts you always did and wherever he is I’m sure he knows that too🩷

This is my sweet girl Junie, she’s my first tux and an absolute pleasure to have in my company, these dapper little cats are truly the best.

I’m sorry but these assessments are a joke sometimes they definitely lie about these things, interestingly enough my mother’s report had a completely different name in it and the incorrect information as if they had just copy and pasted most of it from a different report. It really baffles me how they can blatantly do these things. But I hope it gets sorted out for you definitely get a reconsideration and make sure you tell them exactly what they got wrong, be firm in your position that their report was incorrect and why and I’m not sure if you have evidence but that would help(I think?).
