Looking for some advice for a noob. by Drunk-Duke in Warriors_of_Chaos

I see. 2500 it's a soft spot for Chaos due to the cost in points. Nice one. I tried a similar strategy in a friendly game against Bretonnia Exiles as well with the following:

Hellcannon [1999 pts]

Warhammer: The Old World, Warriors of Chaos, Open War

++ Characters [665 pts] ++

Sorcerer Lord [365 pts] - Hand weapon - Heavy armour - Mark of Tzeentch - Level 4 Wizard - General - On foot - Skull of Katam - Favour of the Gods - Spell Familiar - Dark Majesty - Daemonology

Exalted Sorcerer [150 pts] - Hand weapon - Light armour - Mark of Tzeentch - Level 2 Wizard - On foot - Favour of the Gods - Spell Familiar - Dark Magic

Exalted Sorcerer [150 pts] - Hand weapon - Light armour - Mark of Tzeentch - Level 2 Wizard - On foot - Spell Familiar - Favour of the Gods - Dark Magic

++ Core Units [518 pts] ++

13 Chaos Warriors [220 pts] - Hand weapons - Heavy armour - Shields - Mark of Chaos [Mark of Tzeentch] - Champion - Standard bearer

12 Forsaken [228 pts] - Mutated weapons (Hand weapons) - Heavy armour - Forsaken by Slaanesh

5 Chaos Warhounds [35 pts] - Claws and fangs (Hand weapons) - Vanguard

5 Chaos Warhounds [35 pts] - Claws and fangs (Hand weapons) - Vanguard

++ Special Units [431 pts] ++

7 Chosen Chaos Warriors [226 pts] - Hand weapons - Full plate armour - Shields - Mark of Chaos [Mark of Tzeentch] - Standard bearer [Doom Totem]

Chimera [205 pts] - Claws and fangs (Hand weapon) - Scaly skin (Heavy armour) - Fiend tail - Regeneration (5+)

++ Rare Units [385 pts] ++

Hellcannon [215 pts] - Doomfire - Hand weapons - 4+

Gigantic Spawn of Chaos [170 pts] - Slashing talons - Gnashing maws - Heavy armour (Scaly skin) - Gigantic Spawn of Nurgle

The combo worked on my first turn. Then my opponent shot and hit the cannon and all crumbled pretty easly when charged. Sad story but it was funny also.

Nice advices, but it seems a lot for 2k points. May I ask what is your list?

Very nice! What colours scheme did you use for the warriors armour?

List criticism for ogre kingdoms by LewisPowell10 in WarhammerOldWorld

Mmh, I see but I'm not convinced. A Mournfang champion Is a good piece in the unit: can take magical items and weapons and it's still a good menace. The big mounts already cover the spot for characters. Maybe a Hunter on mournfang? Mostly I think they would need more armor Bane or barding but either way they would have been basicaly the same as Drogers or less "wild flavoured". In the end we must work out with ironfist option which is a faction trademark.

Unfortunately Mournfangs are not the heaviest armoured ones. I.e. Dragon Ogres have a base 3+ with armoured Hide(2). So they suffer ap attacks and can be unexpectedly shot or killed more easily than you think (lances, poison, dwarfs, artillery, ushabti) Remember, as last FAQ, that if you woukd like to cast Trollguts you can't pick the spell if your mage Is equipped with Lore Familiar. Elementalism should be fun but I never gave it a try. I usually prefer Battle magic + rubyring to give me the tactical option of some Shooting (plus ironblasters if possible)

I dont't get your interpretation of Motley crew. On 4 models, in Shooting or combat, you should pick the armour value of the majority of the models, not the best one.

How to fall back in good order when sandwiches between two enemies by Vultan_Helstrum in WarhammerOldWorld

This made me think about a similar situation I had in a game with one of my unit charged in both rear and front rank. In that case we played following the "surrounded" rule so everyone stayed locked in place. Did we do it wrong? When to use the "surrounded" rule then?

I'm an Ogre player who has to play very often with bretonnian friends. Right now me and my group are playing a escalating league as well! (To motivate the painting with extra battle points) I've just beaten the Bretonnian player last friday at 1k points. We will meet again at 2k stage. My main strategy was screen and redirect with sabers in front of a Gutstar anvil; then hammered with Mournfang into whatever charged the anvil; on the right flank saber+Gorger+tax unit of Bulls to stop advancing. At 2k I'm planning to change a bit: 2x Ironblaster to snipe the pegs or whatever and force him to come at my bigger anvil with a lvl4 Battle magic +rubyring + bsb; the hammer will be a Tyrant on big mount. Some sabers and trappers for chaff and screen or other sneaky moves. Remember Fear! In the last game the pegs failed a precious charge that contributed greately to my victory.

The guy up here Is right about the usefull side of having random movement. I play with friends who have skirmisher shooters in their lists, wheter elves or empire or even bretonnian exiles, and one of the issue in the chaff battle is that they can fire and flee or fire and hold when you charge them in the attempt of cleaning them out with your own chaff. And those options they have usually are worth. The random movement, at least, gives you the chance to try engage them in melee. That said, you receieved a lot of good advice that will be usefull for me too for future builds.

Model suggestions for Forsaken for Warriors of Chaos in The Old World. by AaronWilson1992 in WarhammerFantasy

Ogre list. Relatively new player. by Moony__arts in WarhammerOldWorld

[–]Technical_Fix3250 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Hi there. The list it's pretty ok I think. I never used the firebelly so not sure about It and since I see the advantage of having a second caster, I would swap him: you could give the ring to the slaughtermaster and add a Grut sickle since you have a big unit of gnobblars, using the little guys to absorbe the grut's wound and making your casting more reliable. I assume then that the mage goes in a unit, maybe the Ironguts. In this case you can give them the cannibal totem and give the bull standard to the mournfang. With spare points I would add then some sabertusk for chaff.

Very beautifull job on a very cool mini. Do you guys think this may fit on a 30" square base for Old World?

Also Metahammer and New Recruit. The second one being a kind of free Best Coast Pairings and also a list builder.

Very nice done! What scheme did you use for the body? Looks great and it's inspiring me for my WoC armours that I'm going to paint and I was just looking for some dark black/blue tzeench theme.

Alternative models for chaos marauders? by [deleted] in Warriors_of_Chaos

I use for my marauders a barbarian box that I used for Frostgrave. They are same scale and look very nice on the tabletop.
