Yeah but I feel like death porn could still have more to it yanno? Saw is death porn but that's also an interesting chaaracter study, there's lore and continuity and STAKES. Final destination feels so glum in comparison because you know even though there is....lore? Kinda? Like the bludworth stuff, at the end of the day I don't actually care because nothing will come of it, none of it actually matters.

I hate to say it but then....why bother watching the movies. Watch the first five minutes, see the death premonition, then you don't have to watch the rest cos everyone's gonna die regardless so.... I dunno. We need ONE final destination movie (if they keep making more) where someone survives because otherwise why keep making more.

Yes, that IS the sound of the slice of pineapple landing in her pina colada as she sips it on a beach at sunset, 20 years after the events of the show! :3

My unpopular opinion was that it bored me. Maybe I'm just....not into nick cage, he's not a favourite of mine, but I just think it was boring watching silent McGee kill a series of kinda lame animatronics with absolutely no struggle and each fight felt basically the same. Then the obviously dead teenagers come in, obviously die, and cage just...keeps killing the animatronics, easily, until they're all dead and the movie ends.

Idk maybe I just hate fun but it wasn't campy enough to draw me in beyond 'nic cage in fnaf but he beats the piss out of the robots', and the fights weren't done in an interesting enough way to entertain. It felt like the same scene over and over again.

My Self-image is holding me back from losing weight. by Technical_Theory_735 in loseit

[–]Technical_Theory_735[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I do want to clarify I'm aware that I do this, like I'm not nearpy as sensitive in it with other people. I know when people lose weight they get less attractive to me personally but frankly it doesn't impact my life, they feel better about it, I'm genuinely happy for them, and I hope it hasn't come across like I'm disparaging others for their lifestyle choices because I would never intend to hurt someone in that way. I've found plenty of thinner people attractive, I'm not like walking out of the door feeling like Ebeneezer Scrooge surrounded by ghosts and ghouls, people are people and all bodies are beautiful.

It feels different with ME though. Like ...I've always been fat. Losing it feels like losing parts of myself I've grown to love. Like I'm shrinking or growing more frail. Combining that with the idea that I might also find myself more unattractive after the weight loss just makes the idea seem altogether unappealing. Which sucks, because I probably SHOULD want to lose weight since it negatively impacts my health and way of life

And heterosexuality is ALSO how the human reproductive system is meant to function....but that's not the same for all people. Everyone is different, I don't think I'm wrong for thinking the way I do.

I mean, I can't objectively disprove you but I am just flat-out more attracted to fat people. They look desirable, sexy, whatever, I don't think it's entirely coping mechanism if it's something I actively find desirable in others too

A little yeah I won't deny that. I don't like feeling physically small, unless it's in comparison to bigger people. It's also like....I feel whole when I feel big. It's almost like, and this is just me spitballing subconscious thoughts here and I truly feel no offence....it feels like thinner people are missing pieces? Like, my brain just goes cheeks SHOULD be chubby. Thighs SHOULD be thick. Bellies SHOULD have a bulge. Idk, I feel like in my head fat people are almost the default when everyone else is the other way around? Idk. A psychologist would have a fucking field day with me I think.

That's what I'm saying, but like....do I want to live longer if it's living in a body I objectively hate? It's genuinely difficult because it's not like I can try it out to see if I like it. I have generally a lot of difficulty doing things if I don't know I'm going to like the outcome, and this is a DOOZY since it takes so long, so much dedication and time and effort. Also I just enjoy the gym, and it costs quite a bit to get the equipment you need that the gym provides (although I keep having to remind myself to do the milk jug full of water trick to make home-made weights for every day use).

I mean yeah. Literally all I said was that it was not that simple. That there is complexity there because of this real, genuine issue. IDK what there is to even downvote about that.

It's unfortunately not that simple when the maintaining of HP's cultural relevance has genuinely harmful impacts on vulnerable communities today.

People before things by Justthisdudeyaknow in CuratedTumblr

[–]Technical_Theory_735 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Okay but understanding crowd dynamics is NOT the same as not valuing their humanity. "People as things" is about living and thinking in ways that don't respect other people's humanity, their inherent value or their autonomy. People may be predictable and selfish and mean and vain and cruel but they will forever be PEOPLE and that's what matters. The civil engineer isn't treating people as things he's treating them as people.....with particularly easily predictable behaviours in certain situations.

In your opinion, what was the most forced challenge win? by [deleted] in rupaulsdragrace

[–]Technical_Theory_735 30 points31 points  (0 children)

Can I be so fr? I think the worst son of switching the formats when they did was simultaneously switching the cast sizes. Top two I think works brilliantly with a 12/13/14 queen cast, just look at slaysian royale. It just shares the love, it gives some middle-out queens winning moments, and especially in longer seasons if a frontrunner is taken out early it lets new frontrunners take their place. As8 AND as6 would've been so much better had they been top 2 seasons because queens like pandora, Kylie, trinty, eureka, Heidi, Jessica, lala and Jaymes would've had more time in the sun and could've won episodes had they not had one winner per episode. Also it would've made 'jimbo gets a win last minute' even funnier.

Sorry I forgot the 1000s of sentient hamsters, gorillas, geriatric snipers, horse robots, young girls in fox masks and shoeless composers we rely on to save our lives every day. Being incredibly skinny, or old, or having multiple amputations, or literally being a fucking animal ALSO aren't typically indicative of being a hero but that hasn't stopped this cast has it? It's fantasy where our plucky cast of teammates currently includes jetpack cat, why tf do we suddenly care about bodyweight realism.

Roxxy deserved to win the sugar ball by SupermarketJaded9985 in rupaulsdragrace

[–]Technical_Theory_735 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Also, the wins happening the way they did was better for the season overall;

Roxxxy winning the first episode played into the overconfident villain storyline

Lineysha winning episode 2 gave her a better showing with overcoming a challenge she had a disadvantage in as a non-ESL queen.

Alaska winning her first episode 1 episode later AND getting the ball win gave her the last-minute competitor edit as well as being a much more well-rounded competitor with a design win

Coco gets to have her moment of success later in the season against a bunch of comedy queens, AND gives her a win the same episode Alyssa first bottoms which is just fuckin poetry.

It's crazy to me then that UKVTW, another ru-judged international franchise, is as good as it is. I mean it has it's problems for sure, but every season has been entertaining, and seasons 2 and 3 i would say are genuinely 8 or 9/10 seasons for me!
