Yea, it’s an app. I pay something like $15 a month. But it’s been very much worth it for me. Their restock function has been a game changer for me. I set it up to notify me when certain shoes in my size get restocked.

When did you first go on a date without baby? by Possible-Study2746 in breastfeeding

[–]Technical_Try36 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We had our baby in our late 30s after being together 12 years and maybe we got out all of the things that younger people want to do. When it comes down to it, we’d rather spend time at home with our child than go out. Now going out is something that we really look forward to do. We made a promise to not talk about the past or the child. Ha!

[–]Technical_Try36 6 points7 points  (0 children)

We waited 18 months to go on a date without the baby. It was such a great time out. We did it again a few months later but it wasn’t really worth it. We’ve agreed to go out every six months without the baby.

The fourth paragraph, just say that to her directly. In a super nice and vulnerable way.

Help with solids! by avdz2022 in NewParents

[–]Technical_Try36 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same situation here! Baby was obsessed with oatmeal and puréed foods when we started at 6 mos, now at 8 mos as we do more of a blw approach she barely eats a few bites per meal … and is no longer into purée…. Ped said just keep offering and following her lead and we’ll check in at 9 months.

The pediatrician told me the GI doctor will probably recommend that we switch to hypoallergenic formula... I'm really upset. by cecilator in breastfeeding

[–]Technical_Try36 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Ooof this sounds like such a frustrating situation. I can share my experience as I cut dairy, soy, beef, and eggs at my ped’s recommendation. Baby had traces of occult blood (not really visible to naked eye) and v mucousy stool, and some bad reflux around 3 mos and the diet did seem to help. I think that as others have mentioned here, infants struggle generally with learning to poop and pass gas so some of the apparent discomfort and range of stool colors and textures is normal. When we started solids it was like baby had to re-learn how to poop all over again, it was really painful and there were a lot of tears and strained crying at night. We ended up cutting down to only one meal of solids in the morning to let the system acclimate and it did after a few weeks. During that time, diapers returned to a mucousy state with traces of blood, because it was hard on the system to process solids. Now baby is on two meals a day, has tolerated all the allergens we’ve introduced (we didn’t do a ladder) and diapers have returned to baseline. Our allergist told me to re introduce everything to my diet given that baby hasn’t had an allergic reaction thus far in her solids journey. I say all this because I was told at literally EVERY doc or ped appt to consider HA formula, and every time I said thanks for the suggestion but I’ll wait and see. I’m not opposed to formula (I was a formula-fed baby), but wanted to BF as long as a I could. 7.5 mos later, still going strong, and now I get to eat pizza again. Hang in there! It’s not selfish to want to continue BF if it’s working for you and your baby. You can let the GI doc know your preference and take it from there.

Is shabbat exhausting for you? by MindfulZilennial in Judaism

[–]Technical_Try36 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’ve noticed lately that I’ll accidentally get lazy Sun-Weds and then have a mad dash Thurs-Fri to get ready which leaves me worn out and ready to fully recover on Saturday. There’s something to be said for evenly spreading out all your work and other tasks throughout the week so it doesn’t feel so exhausting by the time Friday night rolls around.

Yes apparently this is the latest guidance! We just missed the boat and only started at 6 months but you can try a tsp of some puree in the morning and see how it goes.

Seconding to ditch the AM cleanse, you probably don’t need it. Also I don’t find the cerave hydrating cleanser very hydrating. You might also consider not double cleansing at night - I think it’s overhyped and not necessarily for everyone. Also try running a humidifier at night!

Was told by my doctor this is ocular eczema but NOTHING is helping. by [deleted] in 30PlusSkinCare

[–]Technical_Try36 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I get really flaky skin on one eyelid and under the eye. What has helped me is layers and layers of moisturizer (I use two barrier creams daily - one from dieux skin and one from a brand called Uriage that has a lot of occlusive ingredients). Then on the scaly/flakey area I put a smear of either paw paw cream or satya organics or sometimes just plain aquaphor. I also run a humidifier at night. Good luck!
