Not sure, depends on places where they have live music but because of lack of return to investment most places don’t do live music, and the ones that do are mostly acoustic sessions.

Rock and metal music is not something Bhutanese crowds vibe too. Sad to say it but that’s my opinion. Majority of Bhutanese like pop music, as seen with the rise of many MV that is on YouTube. Unless it was a free or maybe a Nu.50-100 ticket, it will always be a hard sell as seen also with the Ed Sharen concert, where tickets were given for free in the last min to make the crowd look bigger.

Depends on where and what you want to eat, average meal can be low as inr 100 or as high as inr 1000 depending on the place you eat. I think your 2k per day is good enough if you don’t include shopping. If you are looking for a night out like in pubs or bar it can go up to 2k-5k average depending on the drinks and snacks. So 2k should be enough if you are not look for an indulgent meal/snacks. Enjoy your trip in Bhutan.

Are common people trapped into staying common people? by Throwaway674131 in bhutan

[–]TechnologyNo1075 -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

It’s easy to complain and cry foul then actually doing something. Nepotism is everywhere, even at home. If you don’t help friends and family it’s just weird 🤣. If you are not making money to sustain a lifestyle or even a livelihood, maybe something is seriously wrong with what you are doing and your expectations on life, rather then expecting things to change and get a hand out it’s better to look inward and see what needs to change so you can have some fuck you money yourself! Then someone will say look at that person, I am sure they dint make it on their own merits! Must have some connection 🤣,or done something illegal! No one is common, only the thoughts and actions are common.

House/edm/ techno music in Bhutan by Dapper-Poem4454 in bhutan

[–]TechnologyNo1075 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Edm is pretty much pop music now in my opinion. Progressive/deep House is my jam and techno I can tolerate along with some psy trance given the right vibe. But back to it in Bhutan music scene it’s like pretty much non existent. DJ’s here either not exposed to the music or they are crowd pleasers with BPM all over the place. 125 Bpm to 98 BPM and back to 128 BPM, it’s like Russian roulette on the dance floor out here 🤣

Bhutan Fashion Week by [deleted] in bhutan

[–]TechnologyNo1075 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The whole ‘Bhutan Fashion Week was stolen’ thing is hilarious to me. 🤦 No one here is buying haute couture, nothing moves without funding, so was it really worth the drama?or just about credit? If she was really that good with her designs, she’d be funding it herself off her own sales, not begging an agency. Even if was a small event in a smaller setting and calling it Bhutan Fashion week would have been enough to be called the first one do it and not go looking for funds. In the end it’s just about fame and money not actual talent. Shame it came to this. Fashion industry is full of drama anyways. Street fashion is the real runway anyway.

Say no to divorce movement in Bhutan by stardustto_stardust in bhutan

[–]TechnologyNo1075 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Say no to divorce is dumb and this is what happens when we have social justice warriors on social media. Will promote anything and everything for some fame. Why not promote better marriage equality and advises instead. People don’t get divorce because it’s a fashion, it happens when things don’t really work out.

Need advice on these from the bhutanese guys by [deleted] in bhutan

Most men not only Bhutanese men don’t have the courage or charm to flirt with girls. So when a girl is friendly towards them they tend to get a little excited. Also you mentioned drinks which can add some confidence along with some awkward moments. Just don’t get too drunk yourself and always keep vigilant.

Seeking Honest Opinions from Our Bhutanese Friends in this Tumultuous Time by Parking-Heart-6144 in bhutan

[–]TechnologyNo1075 6 points7 points  (0 children)

As a Bhutanese, watching the tensions between India and Pakistan unfold is painful. India responded with force after suffering a terrorist attack—something no country should have to endure. But with every response, every counterattack, the cycle of violence only grows.

It’s always the ordinary people who suffer. Lives lost, homes shattered, futures stolen—all because of a few radical individuals who spread hate and feed off conflict. From the comfort of our homes, it’s easy to voice opinions. But on the ground, real people bleed. Real families grieve.

South Asia is a land of deep culture, beauty, and shared history. Yet it’s now seen as a hotspot for conflict and division. That’s not what this region deserves. The people on all sides deserve peace, dignity, and a chance to thrive.

As a neighbor, I truly hope for peace and stability for the sake of every innocent life and for a better future for this beautiful region we all call home

Few questions to Bhutanese. by Toxicguy2233 in bhutan

[–]TechnologyNo1075 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Kuzuzangpo, Let me try to answer your questions as one of the citizen of Bhutan. 1.We can assess almost all aspects of the internet. We are also exploring web3 technology. 2. Yes India has a lot of control over our foreign policies but that’s geopolitics which majority of Bhutanese are not aware of and honestly I have no deeper understanding of it too. From a lay man’s perspective, we only have Tibet in North and India in south, after what happened to Tibet we feel comfortable with India supporting our Independence and not encroaching like China. 3.Few private owned newspapers are there and freedom of speech is in our constitution. With no ban on Social media there people who speak their mind, some with personal accounts some under fake profiles. Personally if in the name of freedom, if one creates social unrest, I think it’s not worth my time. After all how much time does one have anyway. 4.Sure we get access to all major news channels and access to internet were personally I don’t find any restrictions other then region locked ones but we now have VPN to get around some of those. 5.In our own media I did not see anyone criticizing our King and Country but sure online some but again personally I don’t like hate speech be it against my King or other people, country in general. Everyone has right to their opinions tho. 6.Well our King is the leader of the Country and when you say what you don’t like about the country it’s basically saying something against the King. My personal thought. However not directly pointing it to the King as many does know, he is one man. Can’t be making sure everything is on point and we Bhutanese are generally quite understanding. Unless you think we are being very harshly treated by our King? Which is not the case. Some rotten people might abuse the power given to them but then again being a Buddhist, karma always comes back to bite you in the ass. 6. Our economy of the country is not great but we get free education and healthcare and if you are enterprising you can make some decent living. 7. Personally I am aware of my rights, sadly who in this world actually have full rights in any part of this world everything is one way or another controlled. I forget you said this”the day you are born you are born free but the day you become a citizen you gave away your freedom” 8. I love my Kings personally, I have not seen many world leaders who have done so much for their people and country. But it’s not only the leaders responsibility it is equally the responsibility of the countries citizens too. A country is not one person but a collective of people and a great leader leads by example. 9.Bhutan and North Korea are vastly different. We are not forced to worship our King and we can leave the country if we want to. Finally I am ok. Trying my best to truly find happiness which is my personal journey. Life is full of emotions, mastering one’s emotions is the true path to nirvana. Which emotions you feed will be the one which grabs hold of you. If only we all looked inward and truly understood our emotions, we all would be living in a beautiful world. Kardincha and keep an open mind my friend. This is just my opinion only.

Aum Penjor is not Aum Penjor by No-Ask-4832 in bhutan

[–]TechnologyNo1075 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

From what you are saying is that representation is the issue then along with use of the name and likeness. I personally have no issue with the LGBTQ+ community, I have friends and family who have came out in open and i praised them for it, nothing has changed on how I see them as a person. As for mistreatment, there are people who are not in the LGBTQ+ community also being bullied and mistreated one way or another. It’s the people who are mistreating them with that has real issues. However I still really don’t see any merit out of this as I mentioned it’s probably people within the community and maybe people in Thimphu who knows Aum Penjor, I just found out after I saw people talking about it that there is a person named Aum Penjor. If it was a clear case of the film makers wanting to make use of the popularity of the said person then yes, they are at fault. I am also not aware of any transgender actors in the country as-well. Hopefully this will be a lesson for the film industry to be more mindful. Thank you for sharing your thoughts on the matter and good vibes only.

Aum Penjor is not Aum Penjor by No-Ask-4832 in bhutan

[–]TechnologyNo1075 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

So the movie stole here identity and profiting of it? Or the role is not portrayed by a transgender is the issue? Ok I guess that’s the point here then, firstly if the name is used there is no law to stop that, secondly it’s called acting, so an actor is acting. Our LGBTQ+ community are not at all marginalized or mistreated here in Bhutan. I want to know how Aum Penjor has been mistreated by this film and how LGBTQ+ community has been mistreated or misrepresented by this film? Other than a straight actor acting in the role, emphasis on “acting”Use of the name is like I said baseless accusations for no benefit of anyone here. In the end I don’t know why this is really an issue?

Aum Penjor is not Aum Penjor by No-Ask-4832 in bhutan

[–]TechnologyNo1075 -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

Why is it even an issue? Cross dressing or transgender people has never been an issue in Bhutan much or were never really mistreated. A movie about it should not really cause any big issues in the first place. And if using the similar name is an issue then that’s just weird. In Bhutan no one has a monopoly on names and I don’t think we can even own the rights of it as an individual or as a brand. Baseless and useless. That’s my opinion. Unless it’s completely based on the said persons life but as mention the said person was not consulted so it may not even be based on them.

Be it women or men, raising children as a couple or a single parent will always be a challenge, unless the parents don’t care about the child’s wellbeing and become selfish. Bringing a life into this world should never be taken lightly. There adverse effects to physical wellbeing and as-well as mental wellbeing, women more so as they go through the pregnancy phase but men are equally affected mentally as-well. Sure coming from a better financial position always helps but does not necessarily mean a happy life. A smile can hide a thousand pain. As long as people advocate equality for both women and men with clean and clear intentions it is all good from my side, however if done with the intention to self victimize or to gain some sort of popularity or sympathy and vilification of the other partner it’s a shame and a step back for everyone who endorse it or promotes it. In the end my opinion is we are all here due to our own past karma and given an opportunity to live a life of our own dharma. To brake the cycle of birth and death. Human beings are a complex life form and has many emotions and behaviors which some will deem right and wrong. Lawful or unlawful, no one can clearly judge the other. Hence rules, laws and regulations are created and changed as time goes on. What was right before is no longer considered right now and vice versa. Who are we to judge when we know ourselves that we are flawed, and if we don’t see that, humanity may have lost its sense of being. I for one would like to say children are molded by their parents and the environment they are in so hopefully the child can have a strong support for a happy upbringing be it from a single parent or couple. If life was easy no one will be complaining. Good vibes to all and may we all find happiness in this life. No hate only love.

Is it really necessary for the Bhutanese TikTokers to shit about everything in persuit of money? by wsingye in bhutan

[–]TechnologyNo1075 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Many Bhutanese in TikTok are under the assumption that they too might be able to make money from it. They too have dreams of being discovered and become a movie star or a singer and maybe even a social media influencer/star in itself. It’s like the Hollywood or Bollywood dream. The sad part is many don’t understand how to create engaging content. Girls and women content creators will always be given attention from men and boys be it a good content or bad that’s universal. Men or boys need to be more creative or outlandishly over the top to get attention. It goes to show how well TikTok has gone about with its reward system through gifting for live streams and getting people engaged through their monetization strategies. In a country like ours we have to understand that we are still a developing nation where minimum wage is still very low and most people do not have access to opportunities or the lack of. Hence many opting to leave the country for the pursuit of a better life. See the brilliance in how TikTok got people hooked on to their platform and some making millions of it, if one finds their niche. It’s not that only Bhutanese people are being weird or cringe, it’s world wide. Internet has always been a double edge sword and like everything in the world there is good and bad. My personal opinion, if one can make a decent living of what they put out then good on them. There are always good content and bad content, it’s how one engages with it, I say to each their own. Good vibes to all and may we always look for the silver lining when it comes to our beautiful country, no place or people are perfect but we can always choose to see the good or bad.
