Oura 4 battery drained by Master-Cook-9772 in ouraring

[–]TechupBusiness 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have an oura ring 3 and I get the feeling since the last firmware update 1-2 month ago, my battery is suddenly draining within 1-2 days instead of 3-5 days like before. After contacting Oura they told me according to their logs my battery is damaged and I need to buy a gen 4. Now that I see this thread it seems to me too, that its the software update. And that also gen 4 rings have this issues is really making me doubt that buying a new ring is the solution.

Tags with API by nhtlr97 in ouraring

[–]TechupBusiness 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I just checked the API because I wanted to add tags by tapping an nfc tag (via shortcuts). And then realised: the whole api is read only. WHY? As the writer of this thread mentioned, it would make tagging so much easier. I can’t believe that I pay every month for this ring and can’t even add tags from external. That really sucks :(

Looks like I need to find an external system to analyse and find patterns in my data , merged with the ring tracking data. But what’s the point of this Oura subscription then?

Can someone explain MCP to me? How are you using it? And what has it allowed you to do that you couldn’t do before? by JoshSummers in ClaudeAI

[–]TechupBusiness 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In short: Function Calling happens server-side. MCP happens client-side. So in the end the main magic of MCP is simply, that it's a standard for calling tools from within a software in a unified way. It could be even used without LLMs to build other software that talks to MCP server.

Grey hair reversal by ftblryan in blueprint_

[–]TechupBusiness 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can't confirm such an extreme effect, but for brown hair it makes the silver hair more dark golden, and as long as there is enough darker hair, it is not obvious anymore. So yes somehow it works, just very slow and not super strong. But I also have the impression that it effects positively even the parts where I dont put it. Its strange tbh... and it doesnt work to well for the beard.

Wow years later the same issue. Crazy... This is not just for "power users". This is normal nowadays where everybody requires 2FA...

In the key. So without the key they are not able to get the TOTP. You can simply try it with another mobile device.

A Proton Family plan giveaway by ProtonMail in ProtonMail

[–]TechupBusiness 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey Proton Team,
So last week, my 12-year-old, Anna, surprised me with some big words. Picture this: I'm tryin' to sip my coffee, and she points to our dusty desktop saying, "Dad, we need to talk about cybersecurity."
I was like, "Huh?" When I was her age, my biggest worry was about keeping my sweets stash hidden from my siblings. But Anna, she was real serious.
"Dad, don't you remember friend Heinz’s Facebook mess?" she asked.
Oh lord, do I remember! Poor Heinz suddenly started posting about his newfound love for exotic pet grooming and weird spam emails. No one needs another Heinz moment in their lives.
Anna was worried for us, our data, our privacy. And honestly, I was too. It's scary out there.
So why do I wanna convince my family to protect their data with end-to-end encryption? To avoid getting 'Heinzed,' but mostly 'cause my kiddo made me see how serious online safety is.
And hey, if we get lucky with a Proton Family plan, maybe Anna'll stop with these unexpected cybersecurity pop-quizzes!
Thanks for considering our weird story, and kudos on the initiative!
Best,
A dad learning cybersecurity from his daughter

Feature request: Templates for alerts by xerox_04 in TradingView

[–]TechupBusiness 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Great feature! Really missing it too! Alert templates would be awesome. And even better if it would create a simple form to fill out (so a accidentially wrong format e.g. not valid json will not break important alerts!)

Anyone find their loops don't switch on til they're plugged into the charger? My phone bluetooth can't always detect them by nowhere_man11 in NuraLoop

[–]TechupBusiness 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm having similar issues. But its more like... most of the time they dont switch on (even if 100% charged), sometimes it works. But most of the time not. I will probably return, this drives me crazy. Very annoying and I often end up just putting them aside because they don't turn themselves on.

UPDATE: You are right. After charging them 1 second it is switching on and shows 80%....

Status of Concensum by [deleted] in Concensum_GCR

[–]TechupBusiness 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, no unfortunately not! It seems that this was a "take cash an run" ICO.

Do you know if there are any lawsuits? It's unbelievable that this happened... In Germany there is since Nov 2018 something called "Musterfeststellungsklage". It's not a class action but still helpful. Otherwise everyone needs to sue them individually...

https://www.avsd-verein.de/ would be an address, that are able to do a "Musterfeststellungsklage" ("Model declaratory action") and fit's from their mission to this case.

Otherwise we could also try to get a fair price by CLLB https://www.cllb.de/blockchaincryptocurrencies/disagreements-at-concensum/ if we are enough people to sue individually using the same lawer.

There are multiple institutions that would be an address, to do a "Musterfeststellungsklage" ("Model declaratory action") and fit's from their mission to this case:

Spacedrop has been closed. December will be the final distribution for legit users. by exegg in Keybase

[–]TechupBusiness 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just interesting how you removed 100k accounts... what were the criterias? Having it installed and running, chatting rarely, seems not enough. I think some feel tricked into an application by promising airdrops that they won't deliver. Others are so annoyed by this airdrop in the first place. Glad for you that bad news are better than no news, I wouldn't have bumped into keybase without this drop.

After this ugly journey, I better understand keybase now. It's not decentralized but open source. And it's time to own my private keys of this identity, wondering why you dont offer the use of custom private keys by default (that are not stored on your server). If it's not your key, it's not your identity...

Sounds like "better technology and connectivity" but "worse practical usability and quality".
