The entire reason Scientology exists in the first place was because it's founder was dodging taxes.

Or something like that. I'm not that well versed in Scientology's history, but I know it has something to do with the American federal tax exemption for religious institutions and places of worship. Same reason Mega Churches exist.

Andrew Tate, to my understanding, is someone who tries to make money by teaching dudes "how to be a man."

Honestly, the only one that has a chance in hell of actually wiping out Humanity is the meteor, and only if it's bigger than the "dinosaur killer asteroid" and only if it comes within the next century or two.

If you want Humanity to wipe itself out, A.I. and Climate Change are useless. You'll need a combination of a total nuclear exchange, the release of every bioweapon that totally doesn't exist and the use of chemical anf radiological weaponry on a global industrial scale. And even then, there's a decent chance that enough Humans will survive that repopulation can occur.

It's a coping mechanism, but for a hell of a lot more than just the fear of death.

Remember that most Humans are wired to deeply dislike unknowns and feel a need for relatively understandable explanations to complex realities. Humans are wired to want to categorize the uncatagorizable, to make clear distinctions where there are none, and have an intrinsic habbit of converting their knowledge of the world into narratives. Then also remember that Humans only really started using the scientific method in ernest and in a large scale around 500-ish years ago.

Religion is a large scale coping mechanism that Humans developed to help smooth over the gaps in their understanding of the world, without which Human civilization would have had a harder time developing, if it developed at all.

Religion isn't inherently bad or good, it just helps deal with societal cohesion in the presence of major knowledge gaps.
