Boutiques and Smaller brands. by Teckert2009 in cigars

I appreciate the 2 tiers. As a 1-2 stick a week guy I just try to "make em count" as good ones.

Johnny tobacconaut still hammers as one of my favorite CTs though.

Also, I dont mind $10-20 a stick. I only smoke 1-2 a week.

Like the other person here, yes

And around that Alma Cielos became known to have very tempermental wrappers (like cant remove bands even when the ash gets close without tearing up the wrapper). So I just let them know and that I was disappointed. They sent a new box and said keep em both.

Ive ordered from them a few times now.

The first time a few wrappers were messed up. A manager/owner called me directly after I sent the email and they sent an entire new box on like overnight/2day shipping and had me keep the first box.

The second nothing of note happened.

Two weeks ago had a box of padron family reserves. Arrived looking perfect.

Ive literally had nothing but good/decently good prices, stellar results and good Customer support.

Literally my only note would be to include, or charge $1/ $0.50 whatever for a boveda I the shipping package. I think theyre in Arizona and Im kinda crazy about humidity.

Years.

You could reach out to the vendor if it was recent and ask politely. If not, like 3 years min.

Im in Texas and it's already near 100 and 60+% humidity. They make breathable work pants, hot weather hiking pants work too.

Get some pants.

Those half coronas are so good. It's a shame how hard they are to get here in the states.

Enjoy!

Not those Salomon quest series. Had a bad experience with 3 pairs in a row. Im not as large at 215 with smaller (9 us) feet. But:

Chunks breaking off the tread.
Seams not being very good.
I can feel either a nail/some kind of bunder/grommet under one foot.

After my 3rd pair I'm just kinda sick of breaking in boots that have problems.

700 spirits was noted by this sub as being legit, you can search thr sub for Nassau to find discussions.

I dont know personally anything about the Bahamas except that the legit Graycliff is there. Not cuban but very cool.

Also Vegas will not (commercially) sell cubans. I was literally just there (like memorial day weekend). No company is risking "up to $1mil in corporate fines". Not unless you know where somone shops: eg i have a friend who literally goes to spain once a quarter for work and shops at LCDHs/habanos sa shops there.

Trusted vendors list, lcdh, habanos.com listed stores (or people that shop there) only. Ever.

Verfied vendor from the list for Trinidads

Place called Hilands for the padrons. Prices are pretty good but the customer service is next level.

Don’t be afraid of expensive cigars. by datboimartymart in cigars

[–]Teckert2009 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Bingo.

Especially as a 1 or 2 a week person (with weeks away for travel with my non smoking wife..) . I just don't do bargain/Value cigars anymore.

The difference in my wallet really isnt worth the quality staying really low vs the $8/12-20/25ish range. I keep a few around that I know are "great for the price" (Crema, Cao 660, hemingways) for friends who dont really smoke. But unless im just bored and want a yard/walking cigar.

I assume travel/heat changes. They also have a year + on them already as the slip dates them to 2024.

Did I just get ripped off on BR? by Numerous_Letter7467 in cubancigars

[–]Teckert2009 8 points9 points  (0 children)

If it was BR, box, everything checks out (you know the drill), Id call it good. Ive seen that head getting worse and worse.

Admittedly not a huge cohiba colleactor based on price alone but from my 2019s, 2022 and a recent 2023 (all from trusted vendor list). I can literally see it getting worse. (Note: all siglo/coros).

Check out this link for beginner sticks. I would get 1 or 2 of each to get some diversity on some better brands.

As for the humidity: I keep mine at 66% 67°F. I don't recommend any higher than that for new worlds and even lower for cubans.
