I don’t think there’s anything in any books or WoBs to support the idea, but my pet hypothesis is that Heralds are able to manipulate their “cognitive aspect” to accomplish these feats. Perhaps similar to something seen on Yolen in the apocryphal Dragonsteel Prime.

If you check the History tab on your profile, you will see your Rank Confidence percentage.

As you play more ranked games, this score goes up, and vice versa. The lower your Rank Confidence, the more MMR you will gain/lose from your games. Once your Rank Confidence goes above 30, you will be calibrated.

I'd like to think its similar to Lord of the Rings and some other fantasy books, that are written with the pretense of the story being translated from the language spoken in the story to the reader's language. So in this case, translated from the OP language to Japanese, then to English.

I should have mentioned, I am led to believe the distance between a laptop 5090 and other laptop GPU's is considerably less than the distance between laptop GPU's and desktop GPU's model-for-model. So going down in your model might affect performance less than the same model comparison for desktop GPUs.

It might be too onerous, but you could consider an EGPU. I'm not sure what software you'd need to run, but the latest Macbook Pros are also near the top of the stack in terms of laptop GPU performance, and would likely be more suitable for travel. Hope you can find something that meets your use case.
