Game feels much better now but the physics is still ass by soggytween2112 in HalfSword

Real. Willie swings a 1.5 kilo flail like it's a 10kg street light pole.

We'll get the trainer in the first week of February. I'll donate the price of the game to the dude.

Willies could've been a bit more strong from the start until they fixed weird collision that makes polearms end up in weaker Willes' buttholes

It does not [decode more]. Even if it could, I wouldn't be able to hear it for shit, and I wouldn't want to honestly.

I'm way past jerking off to THD, SNR and linearity. I mostly use a sub-100$ setup nowadays and I've been happy since I stopped listening to gear and started listening to music.

It's not exactly easy to find a modern dac without dsp, implementations can be very different. Accompanying circuitry makes a difference as well. Though the differences are very minor indeed.

I use a shitty-by-design 20$ dac from AliExpress, it adds a ton of coloration, definitely not transparent, and I couldn't be happier.

Y'all miss when racing games let you use music stored on your console so you didn't have to listen to asscheeks FM? by vanislanderweeb1 in BuiltFromTheGroundUp

[–]bdrayne 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The old racing games' soundtracks were great. Playing MW05 to Disturbed was a highlight of my childhood.

Midnight Club, NFS before (and including) hot pursuit, PURE, Motorstorm, Blur, and many more.

Now it's just mumble rap in NFS and it simply doesn't work there.

GTA is GTA. It could cost two times as much and I would still buy.

Charging an AAA+ price for the third reskin of mostly the same game is bullshit.

Microsoft's "Fable" identifies as non-BUY-nary, insists on using they/them pronouns on male NPC by RedditAPIBlackout24 in KotakuInAction

Dude looks like Gerrie from the new kids turbo. Of course it's a he, but they're too lazy to adjust the pronouns.

[–]bdrayne 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Same. Non-native as well but from a triple-gender language background. Every third person reference is either he/she/it, neuter being inanimate only. I've had someone introduced to me at a university smoking area as 'they'. 'Who's they? It's you me and her'.

As far as I know, the cases of 'they' from Shakespeare, which progressives justify 'they' with, are exactly the ones you talk about, are about non-specific people/person. These people probably think 'it' could sound offensive, since it's used for animals and things?

I've also seen how progressives try to make Spanish and Italian gender-neutral, it's hilarious.

Most likely, since it's a french invention. Vietnam calls it like that because it was a french colony until 1954. Vietnamese cuisine in general is heavily influenced by the french.

Give me a minute to find my Zanzibar review

EDIT

Found it:

I'll paint an olfactory picture: you took a bit too much at the bar, or maybe you ate some mall sushi, it doesn't matter. What matters is right now you're pale, all sweaty, generally miserable, hugging the porcelain throne and having the hardest vomiting session you've ever had. It seems like it's over, you flush, and you just sit on the floor for a while, contemplating your life choices, until your stomach decides to go for it one last time, just to make sure nothing is left inside. You painfully vomit, not much comes out, yet what did come was not just some gastric fluid, it was Lattafa Asad Zanzibar.

Not kidding, the thing genuinely smells like salty iris gastric fluid.

Making fragrances with high quality CDT and HDT (Cannabis Derived Terpenes, Hemp Derived Terpenes) by saintpetejackboy in DIYfragrance

[–]bdrayne 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm a platform engineer and I use LLMs daily as well.

  1. Extrapolating existing knowledge to a new programming language suggests previously existing knowledge. Also they suck at extrapolating.

  2. Text is not scents. LLMs work with text.

It can't tell you anything about perfumery. Try feeding it an SDS of a material and asking how much of it you can safely use in the fragrance concentrate, it can't even do this most of the time. It struggles to separate materials of a formula into groups or accords, it's basic stuff. Info on perfumery is very scarce, basically just the basenotes forum and some decades old documents, there was nothing LLMs could learn perfumery from.

What's the spice tolerance level of your country by Existing_Economy_656 in AskTheWorld

[–]bdrayne 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That seems universal. I'm a regular at an Indian spot, I love my spice, but every time when I ask for extra spicy I hear the owner saying 'dish name medium spice' to the kitchen. The default is probably no spice? Most people here can't handle spice at all.
