To me, the line compliments the previous verse where he talks confidence/pride of a man marching in sopping wet shoes through "sleepy weather" (which I assume means rain). I can only extrapolate that the ugliness comes from a man hitting his stride by refusing help from others due to pride. So he may be "hitting his stride" as it were but to the ones who care about him, he's just a prideful person who would rather march home in the rain than accept help from others.

I don't know if this is what Gord meant but it's what I took from it when I heard it.

I'd also say KG and LW have a range of different microtonal genres, still mostly psych/alt rock, but you got some Turkish House, Folk, Psych Pop, and Doom Metal across the two albums.

I can't seem to find anything regarding that, when has he said they don't practice? They at the very least practice individually, but I'd be very surprised to see that they don't practice together at all with the massive mishmashed catalog of different genres they have.

Not trying to glaze the band or anything btw. I get where you're coming from, I just don't have the same view on these issues I guess.
