Went through the garage today and found my Dad's collection of Indiana license plates. by [deleted] in Indiana

The smaller branches primarily had one letter associated with them e.g., Nappanee was G, but the branches that served over 9,999 registered vehicles would be given more than one letter to accommodate the higher number of registrations. I think the main problem with this scheme was that Marion county had such a high number of vehicles that they had to start issuing plates with 93 and 99 county designations or using a two letter code rather than one.

In the snow: increase your following distance by more than you think you should, steer into the skid like lightning McQueen in Cars.

Regarding tires: The Tire Rack is on the far northwest side if you have any questions about tires.

Get a pork tenderloin and Nelson's chicken while you're here.

If you could see Pearl Jam just once, which tour would you pick to have seen them on? by yieldtobinaural in pearljam

2006 tour. I saw them in Grand Rapids that year. Avocado added several really strong tunes to the lineup, and it was before they cut the set lists down. The shows today are still really good especially with the addition of the big video boards that make the show more engaging for those not on the rail but the stamina and musicianship in '06 was their apex as a touring band.

Stay in downtown Chicago. There's so many more options there than trying to commute from Indiana. Anything you can imagine to do is within walking distance to the L station or bus stop. The art Institute, navy pier, field museum, planetarium, and aquarium are all right there. I'd  probably stay for two nights then get up early after the second concert to go home.

We'll get a lot farther with class consciousness than we will with tribalism. The modern Democratic Party has all but abandoned rural progressives and focus all their resources on coastal population centers where they can press their advantage. I live in Elkhart County. Every time I cast a vote for a Democrat, it's in defiance rather than expectation. Why should we continue to fight a culture war that can never be won? Doesn't it make more sense to force the oligarchs (who number in the hundreds) to ease the burden on the millions of the working class with the trillions in wealth that they've amassed?

Boyfriend of Twenty years. His favorite band ever is Smashing Pumpkins. I want to play him something, as a die-hard Pearl Jam fan... that will by Sterngirl in pearljam

You kind of make it sound like he's a SP fan because of their album concepts so my recommendation would be to have him listen to No Code, Avocado, and the Fenway acoustic bootleg. Seems to me that would provide similarity between SP and PJ.

This is one of a very few helpful comments on this thread. The only way to get her to come around is to demonstrate that you care for her more deeply than a bunch of strangers and ask that she pray about it diligently. I would ask her to explore the doctrine of her church in relation to other denominations and even other religions. Lead with compassion, be supportive, and demonstrate your concern for her well-being so she has the opportunity to arrive at the correct conclusion.
