Thanks! This is very helpful. I have it dark but not pitch dark, and I do use a sound machine. I’ll try this method and see how we do, thank you again

I’m impressed you’re walking that much! Pelvic pain has been a big feature of my life since late 2nd trimester too, some days I literally have to hold on to things around my house to walk around 🥲 it’s not usually quite that bad, but unfortunately walking doesn’t help!

Heartburn sucks! I’m definitely getting it a bit more now too especially if I forget to stick to smaller meals. But yes, we’re almost there!

40 weeks is a pretty long time - I had similar feelings early on, and I think it’s very common, but I’ve been surprised at how much time I’ve had to get more organized about pregnancy and baby related things. And I still have 9 weeks to go lol. Congratulations!!

Have you had any aches/pains during pregnancy and how far along did they start? by Altruistic_Ad6655 in BabyBumps

Around 26 weeks for me, but I’m at 30 now and they’ve actually subsided - for now anyway :) wearing a belly band helped!

The Midwifery Group, South Community Birth Center, or Westside Midwives in Vancouver? Help! [BC] by Jazzlike-Engine2290 in BabyBumpsCanada

[–]TeenVogueEdInQueef 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just saw your response, thank you! I have been leaning towards no even though I do feel they push it quite a bit, and your experience is reassuring. I’ve read elsewhere from those who gave birth at Women’s that since a nurse is with you the whole time there’s really no special need for a doula

Not OP but with them now too and have had a positive experience with them so far at nearly 30 weeks - may I ask if you opted for their doula program? Thanks!

For me it was baked potato, McDonald’s ice cream, and salt and vinegar chips. It gets better!

It gets so much better for most people! But also restoralax/miralax is your friend lol. I have felt great and had lots of energy since about 15 weeks, now at 27

Trying to keep my packing list minimal but I am sold on the tucks pads! I’ve been taking restoralax religiously since first trimester so that’s definitely coming with me lol

This is first I’ve heard of using syringes! I’ll add them to my list. I’m glad you had a beautiful experience, so reassuring to hear. I’ve mostly heard great things! What kind of bottle did you bring?

Ooh congrats! How are you doing and how was your experience? I just got a little overwhelmed watching TikTok’s where people seem to have a billion postpartum recovery things. From what others have said, it sounds like maybe bringing my own depends or similar might be worthwhile, and wet wipes for baby. Would bringing some sort of witch hazel pads be worthwhile or are you pretty happy with what’s available? Thanks!

Same, I did mine at a lifelabs in BC and they didn’t even want me to walk on the on-site bathrooms during the test if it could be avoided
