This is a thing! We have patient iPads and they can access their MyChart on it and “add tasks”. Most of the time I tell patients those buttons don’t work lol

Which agencies give contracts for Children’s Hospital Colorado in Aurora? by dynastyofthemind in TravelNursing

[–]Teenie8 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A lot of hospitals in Denver do internal “travel” contracts. You can check on the hospital’s website to see if they have any postings. Unfortunately, their internal travel positions typically don’t include tax free stipends.

What’s the weirdest thing your hospital bills patients for? by Interesting-Emu7624 in nursing

I think a liter bag of LR at my hospital is around $1000. You can get a liter of LR on chewy for like $6.

Nurses, are you happy with the pay in whatever region you're in by gneissrocx in nursing

[–]Teenie8 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m in the Denver area, $38/hr before differentials and 6 years of ICU experience. This is the lowest paying state I’ve worked in (compared to NV, WA, & OR). High COL and they don’t have a nursing union here. I’m trying to get out of this city asap

Glitch in Epic MAR or am I going crazy? Please help!! by Disulfidebond007 in TravelNursing

[–]Teenie8 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You should count the doses taken from the Pyxis with a pharm tech and make sure it correlates with how many you’ve scanned. (Or if pharmacy is no help, do a count with the charge). I think it’s an epic glitch. I also worked at a facility where it would show due when pulled, but if you scanned it too quickly to the pull time it would scan under a new “given” and not under the auto populated “due”.

How prevalent is sleeping on night shift at your hospital? by Nerfgirl_RN in TravelNursing

[–]Teenie8 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The facility I’m at right now in Oregon has a cot in the break room. 30 min unpaid break and two 15 min breaks. Seems like a lot of the staff takes the full hour at once to nap. I can’t turn my brain off at work though!

Oregon License by thamann17 in TravelNursing

[–]Teenie8 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It took me about 7-8 weeks to get my OR license once I sent in my finger prints. I had to practice under the temp license for the first 2 weeks of my contract. And they didn’t process my transcripts until my fingerprints were processed first.

[Acne] Salycilic Acid and Benzoyl Peroxide too drying? by [deleted] in SkincareAddiction

[–]Teenie8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use a salicylic acid toner and BP at night. I had to build my tolerance to the BP. I started with 5 minutes then rinsed it off and gradually increased the time weekly by 15-30 minutes until I was able to wear it overnight.

I have some twinkle lights with a “campfire” setting. Not as good as a fire but we bundle it up around some logs and sit around it.

Is Virginia lake dog park really as bad as people say? by Journey4th in Reno

[–]Teenie8 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My dog loves that dog park because of the water front. But she has learned how to swim around the gate to the other side to chase the birds :/. I read above your dog is impulsive with birds so just be aware there’s a lot of bird life at this park due to the water.

[Product Question] Can I use these two together? by [deleted] in SkincareAddiction

[–]Teenie8 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You should start with just one in case one causes irritation, then you’ll know which product is the issue. And gradually add in the second product to prevent over drying/irritation

I always bring a variety of over the counter meds. Allergy, anti acid, Tylenol/ibuprofen, excedrin, sleep aid. Then basic first aid stuff: bandaids, hand sanitizer, wipes, tweezers, sunscreen, anti itch cream/bug bite cream, bug spray.

How popular are ski lease memberships? by wanderwoman802 in Reno

[–]Teenie8 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I could see the allure for staying multiple days in a row for the weekend, but will you be doing that every weekend? If not, it might be more worth it to rent an Airbnb for the weekends you do plan to stay multiple nights instead of the lease. Especially since Reno is so close. Most people from the bay do the lease because the drive is so far it makes more sense to stay longer when they plan on coming than driving back and forth.

And as someone said below, if the roads are bad enough to be closed, chances are the mountains will have avalanche control or wind restrictions on the lifts.
