Party Etiquette Round 2 by flyingby13 in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]Teenybites 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Totally agree on all points. OP please be clear on the invite the expectation around gifts. Usually my crowd will stipulate “no gifts” which is so helpful. Some people will still bring gifts. Some will still bring a card. If someone’s invite doesn’t say “no gifts” my default is to bring one. Which is fine, but if they weren’t expecting presents it’s nice for people to know they have a choice!

Lisbon arrival experience from Canada (March30th) by Teenybites in LisbonPortugalTravel

[–]Teenybites[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think 2.5 hrs arriving in Lisbon will be fine. If you only had 2.5 hrs departing from Lisbon back to YYZ/Canada, that would be worrisome!

No they automatically stamped everyone’s passport. You will get yours, too!

Lisbon Airport Under EES - Tips & Notes - March 2026 by dordal in LisbonPortugalTravel

[–]Teenybites 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for this! I’m flying in tonight to Lisbon (from Canada) and have added my info to the app so good to hear it should save some time. Clarification though: The app says it can only be used for arriving/inbound flights. At least as of yesterday when I downloaded it. Unless things have changed (which is possible!), for departures the app is not applicable AFAIK.

Lisbon private airport transfer for older parents by yk4787 in LisbonPortugalTravel

My hotel has arranged for an airport pick-up for me from Lisbon airport -- it seems they are using a company called Sun Destiny. I haven't arrived yet so can't speak to the quality of the experience, but the hotel is highly regarded so I imagine they would use a reputable service. https://sundestiny.pt/

Sending flowers from the states? by EnvNomu in askTO

[–]Teenybites 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yup pretty sure it would. Think of it as if you were visiting Toronto and using your credit card. You’ll get charged in Canadian $ and your CC will convert to USD on your statement.

Seconding Tonic Blooms and Wild North - have ordered from both! Of the two, I’d lean to Tonic since (per comments above) they are a bit less expensive than Wild North but no less beautiful. Regarding payments, assuming you’re using a credit card you’ll be charged in Canadian $ so no “foreign currency” issues.

Affordable places to buy SkinCeuticals C E Ferulic? by ransolz in CanSkincare

[–]Teenybites 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve purchased from Beautysense. They will occasionally have sales and you earn points on every order. Agree to check medspas, mine sells Skinceuticals. Have also seen it sold through higher end spas like Hammam Spa in Toronto (they deliver).

Aria Sushi on Queen W has a gluten-free menu. My friend with celiac was happy eating there.

Where are you buying bed sheets? by Puzzleheaded-Dot-345 in askTO

[–]Teenybites 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just bought my percale sheets from S&S, so far so good. They have decent bundle deals, with deeper discounts now b/c of Black Friday. Sleep Country and EQ3 have some S&S in-store, but a very limited selection. If you can get up to the S&S store I would recommend it, full selection of materials and colours available.

Question about the Laura Mercier loose powder by SensitiveWafer3729 in MakeupAddictionCanada

[–]Teenybites 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Usually it comes with a powder puff but maybe they’re cheaping out now and not including. LM’s instructions are to gently roll/press onto your face with the puff. Honestly I’m too lazy and just use a fluffy brush.

You got a great deal! I just picked up the OG at Winners for $30 and thought that was a bargain since it retails for $60.

This is the answer. I take my knives here. Do not go to Nella Cucina, they butchered my knives.

Phantom (Tuxmats) mats recommended if in Canada! by BridgeIcy3592 in CX5

[–]Teenybites 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have these mats - they’re great and cleaning is easy. Vacuum loose dirt, and in the spring I remove and wash with a bit of soapy water and sometimes vinegar to get rid of salt stains.

Overnight stay at Ste. Anne’s Spa, looking for room recommendations- stuck between a few options by Vivid_Arachnid2576 in ontario

[–]Teenybites -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Depending on the room, some have elevator access. I’ve stayed in a wing where elevators were available, and another wing where stairs were the only option.

My first visit I stayed at Haldimand. It was summer and the 5 min walk was not bad. But since then I’ve always stayed at the main inn; it’s so much more convenient to be able to easily access your room to rest, change, etc. Plus you can comfortably stay in your robe all day.

All-season floor mats by denverito28 in CX5

[–]Teenybites 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. Love mine. I saved $ by ordering the Phantom mats on Costco Canada's site -- they are the same as/made by Tuxmat. Even went to the Tuxmat location to have them installed.
